SUIT UP and SHOW UP!

Persevere definition, to persist in anything undertaken; maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly.

PERSEVERE is a powerful word.  To persevere means keep pressing in, keep moving, continue, stay the course, don't quit.  

Emotions run high when watching children you know participate within sports activities.  Lil Miss was nervous that she wouldn't medal in cross country.  Hugging her, I said, "Suit up and show up.  You're a winner by being here."

Lil Miss did well running the two miles across the terrain.  She placed.  Four meets into the season, she placed first for her age group.  Exciting.  More hugs.  She's learning the sport.

Because you care to participate you are a winner.  True.  The same with LIFE.  Suit up and show up.  Get dressed each day, groom yourself, show up...you're a winner by being here.  I am not in the best of health.  Terribly slow some days to where I barely manage.  My attitude counts for something.  Keep pushing.  Deep breaths.  Keep in motion.  Even if you are sitting in a chair, move yo' arms.  Wiggle yo' feet and fingers.  Stretch for the sky.  Say a prayer for strength.  Keep breathing.   

I'm very disappointed that the week-end is just about over.  TIME moves on.  OCTOBER lurks around the corner. 


SIMPLE CHORES are SIMPLE GOALS that are important to me.  A HOME BLESSING comes from having a residence that is clean and orderly.  

I will get the floors swept, the area rugs vacuumed, the furniture dusted, some windows cleaned.  Continue laundering the clothes.  Some decorative pumpkins are going to come out of hiding and some wreaths will be hung on the doors.  On Friday, I hope to buy a few outdoor MUMS, a real pumpkin or two and hang a HARVEST GARLAND on the fireplace mantle.

OCTOBER will fly right on by.  First it will be October 1st, I'll blink then it will be the middle of the month.  Blink...Halloween says hello moving into THANKSGIVING MONTH.

  

This month, HUBBY has said he will help me shuffle and clean the spare room.  I cannot get to it by myself.  This is one time I know I need HELP.  Perhaps by CHRISTMAS it will be arranged.  We have flooring to lay down, but this will take some planning and muscle.  Some painting has to be done before the year is out.  Lord, I need your help.  Please.  

HOUSEWORK is constant.  Must stay in motion.  A little here and a little there.  Stay the course.  
Suit up and show up.  Position yourself to place.  PRAY and PERSEVERE.  Winner.  Winner.  Chicken Dinner.

I wonder if anyone has named their child Persevere?  I know I've heard the name Patience, Virtue, Charity before and thought these were unusual.  Depending on what generation you have belong to the names change.  Expectations change.  Persevere still means what it did.
