THANKSGIVING IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND

SUNSHINE WAS STREAMING INTO THE ROOM THROUGH THE WINDOWS THIS MORNING.
I love waking to a brightly lit room in the mornings with natural lighting as if the day is ready to greet me.  Feeling more energized this morning from our 'ON THE ROAD AGAIN' week-end.  Being more energetic is a BLESSING to me.  I so badly need the days where I am energized to move forward getting lots done because there is a lot to do each day.  I seldom feel extremely energized these days so when a good day comes along it boost my mental and emotional health to a better place.  Take when I can before it vanishes.

After getting around this morning, I finished clearing off the bookcase shelves, put a load of laundry in, checked the mail and am sipping HOT LEMON WATER WITH CAYENNE PEPPER as I blog.  It has been awhile since I sipped lemon water with cayenne pepper in it.  Seems I go in cycles concerning my health drinks.

Today being the 21st of the month, I think this is a good time to be more selective on what I eat and drink.  In 3 months to the day my labs will be done to check my A1c.  Not sure if the cholesterol will be checked as well.  I will deliberately work at whittling down a few pounds more and lowering my A1c numbers.  In a few days, I will go back to QUEST DIAGNOSTICS to personally have these labs checked to see where I am right now so I can compare if I improved when the data is out in January 21st.

Walking is on the agenda today as the temps will be in the 60s.  Our AUTUMN is definitely here. I best soak this in before the cold WINTER WINDS blow.  On the back burner is CHRISTMAS DECORATING, Hot Chocolate and CHRISTMAS MUSIC honoring the LORD's Birthday.

Stores have their Christmas decor out along with Halloween. THANKSGIVING is no where to be found.  These last three months of the calendar year are clumped together not to mention the start of a NEW YEAR JANUARY 1st.  Though I cannot find THANKSGIVING anywhere, I have an ongoing MENU working up in my head flowing freely with gorgeous table settings for company.  I'm pretty sure we will not have the COTTAGE up and going for THANKSGIVING so I had better figure something else out for the BIG MEAL and company.  I might be fooled and be surprised that it all comes together within a month.  It is great inspiration for encouragement to get the house ready.  I need encouragement, don't you?

Five interesting facts about turkeys are that they can blush by changing the color of their heads to express emotions, they have excellent 360-degree vision, they can fly at high speeds for short distances, a group of turkeys is called a rafter, and female turkeys don't gobble but purr.
    🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃

I will go ahead and bake one of the turkeys we have in the freezer this month and freeze the baked meat for turkey sandwiches that has nothing to do with THANKSGIVING other than I am THANKFUL we have one in the freezer and we are not without.

THANKSGIVING WILL BE FOUND in my heart and mind. Giving thanks each and every day.

No Halloween decorating with little HARVEST DECOR.  The pumpkins we grew this year will be just about it for HARVEST TIME.  I want to clear out the front porch urns of the Coleus and replace with stacked pumpkins.  This is get us through the rest of October and November.  Come December 1st, the Christmas decor should some out.  If the front porch is finished then I can decorate it along with the front doors.  Lord, let it happen.

I have a tendency to like to decorate for the HOLIDAYS.  This has become seriously scaled back as the COTTAGE is a tiny one.  I thought about the CHRISTMAS TREE the other day.  I probably will sit a miniature one out again this year on the little table that is in front of the Parlour windows with sparkling lights on it and maybe some garnet colored ribbons.  Basically extra SIMPLE.

I have large pinecones that I need to hot glue hooks on so I can dangle them from the dining room chandy that will have greenery on it.  Keeping it SIMPLE this year.  I can hang garland around the windows throughout the COTTAGE, the door frames and across the cased opening between the Living room and Dining room.  I learned a new TERM today.  Cased opening.  I did not know it was called this.  Had to look it up.

Where to go with the NATIVITY SCENE I know not.  Perhaps I should focus on activities outside the HOME such as HOLIDAY parades, Church festivities, CHRISTMAS movies, food, making cookies to give away, and especially meditating upon JESUS, our savior, my personal savior.  Taking in NATURE to decorate inside the house will be thought upon.  The front porch might just be finished where I can hang garland, twinkling lights and garland colored bows with a couple of CHRISTMAS WREATHS on the front doors.  Just simple SIMPLE.

Perhaps the main focus of CHRISTMAS decorating with this tiny COTTAGE will be the front porch?  Perhaps.  When the weather turns off chilly, I start thinking about decorating.  This is the best part to me about the cold months.

I have THANKSGIVING dishes that will probably stay in storage until next year.  What a heck of a way to LIVE.  In transition where I cannot fully use my dishes is not an easy attitude to nurse.

WELP, I got hyped up after getting dressed for the day.  While HUBBY had gone to town, I shuffled the Living room furniture about so the bookcase would have an easy path to the front Bedroom where it'll sit holding my quilts.  I walked and slid the bookcase out of the Kitchen through the Dining room and into the Living room where it will sit until it can be moved into the Bedroom.  Some carpet strips have to be pulled up first in the corner of the room then the bookcase will be shuffled into that corner that has required some effort to clear out, but I did it! Praise the LORD!!!

I'd like to get this done before LUNCH which will be salad for me and tamales for HUBBY. There's a load of towels in the clothes dryer that I will fold and bluejeans to dry THEN I will see about getting that bookcase into the corner.  Hallelujah and a half.  Baby steps are taking place.

Hubby just pulled up the carpet tacks and here I sit.  Best go get the laundry folded and put away.  I've got things to do!  Never a dull moment.

PRAYER REQUEST.  PRAYERS APPRECIATED for one of my grown sons who is in search of employment.  He sold his house which was answered prayer.  Thank you for being a prayer warrior for this situation that a mother to grown children understands.

Thanksgiving may be no where to be found yet, but I am THANKFUL for you visiting my little corner of the internet world.

    Blessings to you.

    HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

    NOVEMBER 7th
    ~Be Flexible~

Today was different.  I worked on paperwork this morning and knew that I would be baking turkey later after exercise class.  I was still in my pajamas when my Husband returned HOME from a doctor's appointment.  More test were given to check out his eye health.  The test gave him a whopper of a migraine headache.  The over the counter meds didn't help.  He became very ill.

Called our Family DOC to get something else for migraines.  Waited.  I went ahead and went to class and picked up our turkey that was thawing in the COTTAGE FRIDGE.  Quick trip and I was HOME AGAIN.

Hubby was sleeping.  Prepped the Baking Bag with flour and was so upset I forgot to run cold water over turkey, pat her down and oil the bird.  This poor ole turkey went into the baking bag and then placed in the oven to bake for four hours at 325 degrees without so much as salt and pepper for seasoning.

Took a while to get prescription filled.  Had to drive into Manhattan to get new meds.  Very ill Hubby rode along with me in the car.  A three day supply of Imitrix for 67 cents.  HUBBY is resting.  Still not feeling the best.

This evening I have to be flexible.  Turkey baked alright.  She's sitting or resting in her juices.  Here in a little bit I will do my best to slice her as it is usually my Husband's job to do the carving.  I depend on him for so much.  MARTHA STEWART where are you when I need you?  GOOGLE and youtube to the rescue tonight.

    Follow These Steps
    1. Remove the string. Place the turkey on a carving board.
    2. Remove the legs and thighs. Cut through the skin that connects the breast and the drumstick.
    3. Remove the drumsticks.
    4. Remove the wishbone.
    5. Remove turkey breasts.
    6. Remove the wings.
    7. Slice the thigh meat.
    8. Slice the breast meat.

Think I had better be very flexible.
    I will survive.

    Thanks for stopping by.

    DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

    John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

    Ye must be born again.”

    King James Version (KJV)

    PSALM 118:17

    I shall not die,
    but live, and declare
    the works of the Lord.

    PROVERBS 24:3-4

    By wisdom
    a house is built,
    and through understanding

    it is established;
    through
    knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

    and beautiful treasures.

    FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

    FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

    WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
