Just looking at this room makes me smile.
It has all that you need for a very comfortable Bedroom.
A sturdy bed with bedding.
A vanity.
A chair to sit on.
A lamp on a stand.
Rugs on the floor and space to walk about the room.
Hanging light fixture.
Lace panels on the windows with pull shades for privacy.
Pictures on the walls.
An interior door for privacy.
Clean and orderly.
It's helpful to stop and think what direction you'd like to go with the overall decorating of your HOME. Necessity should be the main rule of functionality. Right? It's practical.

Thought this 1885 Bedroom was Pretty.
I don't recall where this room is,
but I liked it at the time I saved the pic.
Our present spare room will hopefully get a work over after the Kitchen is completed and
the Master Bedroom done,
and....and....and.....and.
I'd like to have at least one room in this old stone house that resembles what a room might have looked like in 1885.
I live in a very contemporary world which produces contemporary items for one's use, but just down the street is an Antique Mall that is full of items from days gone by.
We really do have it good with all of the items available to purchase on the market through mail order, catalogs, internet, estate sales, rummage sales or stores.
Not to mention hand me downs and bartering.
Things that were inherited can be very special.
Items that one has made can be like a crown of glory that enhances your HOME while you're perfecting your skills and using your talents.
If you want to decorate your home with bare bone essentials that's perfectly alright....you're the boss. If you want to mix and match eras, that's alright.
It's all good.
Finances don't have to rule the roost.
There's a way to pinch pennies and collect ideas at the same time while patiently waiting for the right timing.
Sometimes our feelings change during that wait and the things that we thought we wanted are no longer desired. Not always, but sometimes.
So while I WAIT for this 1885 room to materialize,
I do my best to stay focused and THANKFUL for what I have.
I blog, study interior design, pray, day dream, draw up plans, shops a bit, organize, and WAIT.
Mustn't let this waiting ruin my life or be the only thing on my mind.
I knew a very frugal Lady that shared with me a excellent and frugal guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls with windows that have nice curtains....you'll have an attractive room."
She was right.
Deanna is saying, "You don't have to be unhappy or dirty."
Apply this to your humble HOME.
