CAN I JUST SAY THAT THIS SHOPPING FOR CHRISTMAS TREE DECOR is an entertaining activity. I had an idea what I wanted to do for the tree this year, then changed my mind and decided to go more country looking instead of the fancy red and gold ornaments or the light blue and crystal ornaments I have in storage. I hope this turns out. How can it not?
Just about anything can turn up on a tree these days and called, "Alright!" The fairy lights were placed on the tree last night. They do look different than the white twinkle lights I usually use. Rounded up some pinecones, acorns, jingle bells, bought some burlap ribbon and bows. I'll have to see how many red berries I can come up with to add some splashes of color. Will make dried orange slices, cinnamon stick ornaments and ginger bread men later this week. Purchased burlap to place around the base of the tree and a country looking star to top the tree with.
I'll have to go over to the cottage and get some cookie cutters and the garland of red wooden beads. I think down in the basement are some ornaments that have words on them like rejoice, hope, faith. I hope I can find them and I have faith that the tree is going to be just fine so I can rejoice that it will get done.
Making plans for chocolate covered pretzel sticks. Bought the white chocolate today and sprinkles. Have the pretzels rods that I bought last week. Have to find my fudge recipe as I don't know the recipe by heart. Would like to get some of this stuff made early so I can mail to my Son for Christmas cheer as I don't think he's coming HOME for CHRISTMAS.
I ran out of cellophane to wrap all of the acrylic snowflakes as gifts, so I had to get some more. 4 more to go then this is completed and I'll get these snowflakes over to the right person so they can hand them out to the club members. This reminds me that when doing stuff, if we can just stick to it then little by little the task gets done. I was hoping to have the wreaths done by today, but this was too ambitious. Need more time. Once again I wish I had started earlier, but hey, it's not Christmas yet. Tadaah. Tis coming and I want to simply relax and soak in all the beauty of the season.
My shopping today took the entire afternoon when I thought I'd be back HOME in a snap. Guess I'm not allowing enough time for the driving and the crowds in the stores. I enjoyed the shopping and think I could have spent more time just dawdling. Merry Christmas and ho-ho-ho. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas comes to mind.
The temps are dipping and it is gets darker earlier than I like. After WINTER's SOLSTICE, the days will start to get lighter again and it doesn't seem like it's been all that long ago that it was SUMMER's SOLSTICE.
Well, I think I'll line the base of the Christmas tree with burlap and finish wrapping the snowflakes. Then wrap the tree with burlap ribbon. Watch a movie and rest. Already it's Wednesday. Tomorrow I hope to create a couple of wreaths and hang garland about the front door with twinkle lights. Christmas letter here I come.
I have a doctor's appointment next week and I'm not looking forward to it. One of those LADIES appointments. Yuck. Paper dress time. It's been a little while since I had one of
T H O S E appointments. Think it's time. The older you get, Medicare doesn't want to spend money for THOSE KIND of check-ups. It use to be get a Pap smear every year along with a mammogram. They have changed their minds on these and now are more laid back then previously. I think they rule the world. Whatever THEY say about when you should get a physical, we seem to bow down to this as if we cannot think for ourselves. hum.
AS FOR DRESSES YOU WEAR WHEN GETTING ONE OF THOSE EXAMS...SHOULD IT BE ONE OF THESE OR

These would be a lot more FUN, huh. Making a FASHION STATEMENT at the doctor's office could be an exhilarating experience.

plain Jane last year's model with no character. grins.
Perhaps, the doctor doesn't care what I wear as long as I am clean,
pay my bill and in my birthday suit.
I believe I should consider making a fashion statement
and forget about it.
