I had misplaced my chocolate diamond stud earrings. I started to worry, because the place they were suppose to be, they were not. I looked high and low and thought, "What did I do with them? They're not where I put them last time."I continued to look for them and replay in my head where I wore them last...did I lose them? Where were they? My Husband gifted me last year for my Summer Birthday.
He wasn't very happy when I mustard up the nerve to tell him that I could not find them. He'd look as well.
I began to pray, "Lord, if they are here in the house, please let me come across them....please." I continued to look and pray. What did I do with them? I discovered that they were missing Mother's Day. Here it is almost Autumn. I said another prayer.
My friend Mary B. lost her diamond from her ring and I recall her sharing that God was interested even in the small things of our lives. She prayed as she was sitting and noticed a small shiny object lodged in a crack on the floor. It was her diamond. She was sooooo very happy. I can still hear her sweet voice telling this to a group of women at a Prayer Meeting.
About a year ago, Mary B. went home to be with the Lord. She passed away in Colorado. When I heard that she had died, I did cry. She truly is one of my favorite Christian Ladies. I miss her. I met Mary B. 13 years ago when I went to a Christian Ladies meeting in Manhattan, Kansas. She was in her 80s then and was chairing the club. This had been her second time to chair this club.
Always so well groomed and clean in appearance. She still drove her car all by herself, was active in her Church and walked a mile a day. She said this was her prayer time.
She was soft spoken and very kind.
When she had surgery on her 80something leg, she showed our small group of officers the incision and stated that her young doctor's eyes bugged out when her saw her leg. She chuckled. We all chuckled. Her 80something leg looked like the leg of a 30 year old's! She may have been in her 80s, but her legs were that of a much younger woman's. Her clean living, walking and God, preserved her body. In fact all the more mature women in this club were youthful looking. I said it must be in the water!!! Another one of my new friends said to me that all of the elderly Ladies were like this. And they were.
Funeral was in Colorado. I was told that there would be a Memorial Service for her back in Manhattan, as she had lived there most of her life, but went to live with her daughter about two years ago. I saved the letters and cards she had mailed me. Coming across those letters that I had stuck in my drawer were tearfully read.
The Memorial Service never took place. So I had one in my house all by myself. You know when certain people cross your path and they have a quality that you admire? Well, Mary B. had qualities that I admired. She was so very graceful and polite, kind and friendly. I admire this in a Christian woman. Also when I was in her apartment.....clean, clean, clean and orderly. Her gift of hospitality was apparent. (Note to self and prayer to God: Lord, Help me to have qualities like Mary's....I need some help here.)
Last week, I decided to look for my earrings again. You can imagine the surprise and excitement I had when I found my chocolate diamond stud earrings in a tiny baggy waiting for me when I went to look for them where they were suppose to be and they were there. I stood dumb founded as I said outloud, "Where did you come from?" I looked in this place several times before and you weren't there. My husband had looked there as well.
I thanked God.
I decided I would surprise hubby by wearing them and seeing if he noticed I had found them. Being too excited, I blurted out that I had found my earrings! When I went to put them on....the back of one was missing. I thought that I would go ahead and put them on. Told my hubby that the back of one was missing, but I wanted to show him the earrings anyhow. SEE!
Then when I took them off to put them away, the one that had no backing, had the backing on it......I thought hummmmmm. I must be losing my mind or am I. Simply didn't see it before? Do miracles still happen?
Still dumbfounded. Amazed.
I'm not crazy.
I'm not making this up.
I didn't dream this.
I'm not delusional.
This truly happened.
God bless you all!
TODAY......I am wearing my little chocolate brown diamond stud earrings.
To God be the glory.
