MORPHING ALONG

TIME GETS AWAY FROM ME SO QUICKLY THESE DAYS.  It is apparent to me as I age how fast it  vaporizes into thin air.  Rethinking my day and how I need to forge ahead.

GOTTA purchase candy to use for making goodie bags for the grandchildren's Halloween treats this week.  I have the bags that I will use for the sweets.  Not too much sugar as I know they already get more than their share of SUGAR.  I'd like to get the goodie bags done ahead of time this week.  I suppose one regular size candy bar ought to be enough.  I wouldn't need a bag for that so miniature candy bars and pretzels it is.

Over the last few days, I furniture oiled the church pew two coats, oiled down the interior and exterior of the corner cabinet that fell on me, shuffled furniture from the front bedroom into the COTTAGE Living room, thinned out papers, stayed the course on eating the Daniel Fast way.  On day 11.  I decided that I'd make up the Living room to look like an actual Living room.  Doing so, I still have things lying around that don't need to be there.  Things to haul off.  When it comes to downsizing and getting rid of so much clutter that I have had a tendency hoarding, I am learning to live a different way.

The front bedroom that I had set up as a TV room is being disassembled.  First it gets cleared out.  Last Summer the room was being used as a warehouse.  Slowly I cleared the big boxes out and have been using it as a TV room and a place to work on old papers that needed gone through like 40 year old checks.

This week I cleared the furniture plus the television out of this front bedroom in preparations for when we will be tearing out two small closets, rolling up the old carpet, building a floor to ceiling book shelf along the long wall, replacing the ceiling, fixing the present paneling, sanding down the trim, painting the walls, trim and ceiling.  Then we will decide on the floor treatment.  A sub flooring will more than likely have to be laid.  Wood floor or carpet.  I know that this will not take place until the shed is done, the house leveled and the bathroom completed.  On the agenda.

UPDATE ON THE STORAGE SIDE OF THE COTTAGE GARAGE.
Shed is cleared out.
Boxes gone through and dealt with.
Shed windows repaired.
Paint for the shed floor purchased.
Old ruined paneling taken down and hauled off.
New sheet rock and paneling purchased, hauled and stored in shed.
Walls prepped for sheet rock to be installed.
Sheet rock installed on the walls. Hubby said he now can install the ceiling treatment.  Later the one wall in there that will not have paneling can be painted.  The floor painted.

Eventually this old shed will be shingled and painted.  When we are at the place where the cellar is thoroughly cleaned up, the muscle racks will migrate to it, then the shed will morph once again and store a few pieces of furniture and the treadmill for exercising.  Morphing along is the theme of life right now.  Just morphing along.

Seems foreign to many what takes place revamping a place to live.  This season in LIFE is a handful to an old woman like me.  I'm ready for time sitting under a shade tree sipping lemonade not going anywhere.  In order to be productive, I've got to stay on course and make progress for the day.

Earlier I watched videos about cleaning.  The young lady had a system worth mimicking if I could do a complete overhaul on the present living space.  I don't see that happening.  The interior of her home was far larger and spread out with open spaces that I don't have.  I can take some of her hacks and apply.  Another hurdle.  First the thinning out takes place with downsizing so much it makes my head spin then the paperwork completely has to be in order.  More downsizing and turning loose of more to where we are at a minimum of house ware and clothing.

Morphing right along involves thinking things through.  Have you thought about it?  Like preparing for a trip to a foreign country to live, I have to think long and hard about what to take with me on this journey to the COTTAGE.  It may sound strange about how reading the obituaries encourages me to get rid of things.  Last night I read that one of my High School friend's mother passed away.  A reminder that we cannot take things with us when we depart for our destiny.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
