OH HEAVENS. The day didn't go as planned, but managed to enjoy it anyways. TODAY, will be a new opportunity to be blessed.
I didn't get my walk in on Tuesday as I fell asleep in my chair and decided I must have needed it. Will attempt to go in the morning. We had a important Birthday Party to attend.
We happily celebrated our grandson's 3rd birthday so our supper was provided with refreshments.
Spent time with family and had fellowship. Very nice evening.
He was one excited little boy. He's very animated when he talks, but this doesn't slow him down any as he knows exactly what he is talking about even if we do not fully understand his language. He is getting better at pronouncing his words and we love him so much.
The week is busy, but that's alright. Several out of town MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, shopping, birthday party, signing with a University and shuffling boxes, racks and dishes.
I am slowly clearing out the crystal from the china cabinet and getting ready for BLUE WILLOW China to take its place. One problem though. When Hubby repaired the dining room floor in front of the china cabinet, it caused a different problem that we plan to take a look at. The wood boards in front of the china cabinet are now raised where they shouldn't be and when you walk on it, the china cabinet shakes. Oops. Gotta fix this now. Anything inside of the china cabinet will be unsafe in the piece of furniture.
THOUGHTS. I'm more than ready to have order back in the Dining room. I guess I can empty the small Library cabinet and place my crystal in it so I don't have to box it up. Now that's an idea. ✋PAUSE. Everything changes. CLICK. Gave it some more thought and came up with this. I'll empty the Library cabinet and place odds and ins in there like a Silver plated Tea Service, Antique Tea Leaf Dishes and a Chocolate Service Set. All of these things were in the corner cabinet.
I DID IT. I took pictures of my collection of antique casserole dishes with lids, bubble wrapped the pieces and placed them in the drawers of the walnut chest. Here they will be easy to access and if the time comes that I want to display them, then I will have to figure it all out. For now, I believe I have found a solution for displaying the crystal pieces that I treasure.
Being in a tiny COTTAGE has many challenges and I am not immune when working at fitting in. It's very difficult for me to feel at ease when I don't know where to go with my treasures.
My attitude will have to change so I am not stressed about this. There are far worse things in life than not knowing where to put my belongings.
I'm thinking about CHRISTMAS and have hopes that the COTTAGE will truly look like civilized peeps live here instead of living in a warehouse.
Hubby managed to get one of our monster storage racks in the garage. This has been an intense labor of LOVE. Now to get the 5th one into the cellar and place HOLIDAY boxes on it. Almost finished clearing the SHE SHED out so a overflow bedroom can go in there freeing up a room for a TV room meaning the Living room will shape up into a pretty Parlour. Shazam. I'm happy.
THOUGHTS ABOUT REMODELING. After the HOLIDAYS, we will get serious about replacing the icky carpet that's here. Hard telling how old it is. Plain beige colored. I can only imagine what shape the padding beneath it is in. Yuck-o-la. It's got to go. The carpet is very worn down and horribly stained. Beyond looking good or being clean.
2025 will be the beginning of our second year here. I hope we get further along this second year than we did the first one. With the Bathroom completed, we will be ready for a different room to get our hands on. I think the Living room and Dining room will have the ceilings painted, the wall cracks patched then painted, crown molding hung and wainscoting put up in the Dining room. The wood trim throughout around the windows and floor will need scraped and painted. THEN somewhere in all this mess, the floor will be dealt with. A deep sigh of relief for sure.
HUBBY has a medical appointment coming up at the end of the week. Pray it goes well.

This was the day that I was blessed to purchased velvet ribbon, twinkle lights and jingle bells all discounted for Christmas.
I can't help thinking about CHRISTMAS and how to keep it simple. Getting to the place where we can even have a tree in the Living room means serious shuffling and moving large pieces of furniture throughout the house. Makes me tired thinking about it.
I've been giving it so much thought to what needs to be done making this all happen. Much prayer and thoughts are taking place for what seems like a quick fix to chaos.
Watched our granddaughter sign a letter of intent to run for Kansas State University at her school yesterday. The entire school was invited as well as the community. She has broken numerous school records and is the most decorated athlete in the history of the school program.
She ran before she walked. Not kidding as I babysat her allowing her to hold onto the edges of the sofas and ottomans in the Family room and away she went. Very quick I might add. I have watched her grow up into a young lady.
Loving being a Grandma.
Last night, we went to the Movie Theatre to see HERE with Tom Hanks and Robin Wright. My Husband surprised me and asked for a date. We dined in by eating Hamburgers and drinking bottled water. Nice date. I was pleased that it was his idea and not mine.
The movie had a different spin on one room of a house throughout the years. The story line kept moving so there was no time to get distracted and nod off. I liked that it showed how people lived and life got in the way.
TODAY, the Insurance Inspector comes to check on the roof. I'll walk to the post office for exercise as I need stamps and need to mail some cards and a small package to my Mom. This afternoon I will write out some more Thanksgiving cards and get them ready to mail.
