WHILE HEADING HOME TO KANSAS, we decided to detour to Pawhuska, Oklahoma shopping at Ree Drummond's Mercantile. Been a few years since visiting. Twas a nice mini-vacay stopping by.
I'm not usually an early riser, but on Monday morning I was up around 5am ready to hit the road to Pawhuska. We were able to go inside the restaurant to eat breakfast by 10 minutes til 7. Sat and had some water, 3 pieces of bacon and half of a Maple Pecan Scone.
Pleasant was what an old tired, worn-out gramma needed. Sitting across the table from hubby was refreshing to me. Pleasant to sit and admire the surroundings.
Hubby got his morning coffee. I tried to figure out who's coffee the restaurant was using. Hubby googled it and DAH...P. W. stands for Pioneer Woman. I difinitely had a SENIOR MOMENT in the morning. LOL.
Looked around the store afterwards and picked out Poodle Salt and Pepper shakers for me and a coffee cup for my honey.
We'd be inside the Merc three times for Breakfast, an Iced Tea break upstairs and Lunch at 11. In between visits we looked around some of the other stores, take a drive before returning for Lunch where Hubby had a Chicken Fried Steak Dinner with Salad and Biscuits and I a Roasted Beet Salad. I ate one of his biscuits as well.
Over all, we had a charming day drummin' @ the MERC. This building reminds me of what I grew up around in Liberal, Kansas. At one time this building actually was an Anthony's Store. Liberal had one. Liberal had C. R. ANTHONY's, J. C. PENNEY's and a LEVINE's store on the same block. All three buildings were similar to this one in Pawhuska. Takes me back to a gentler time.

Like a piece of art. Beautiful presentation and delicious.
One of the items in her Mercantile that caught my eye was the Tea Kettle and the Cake Server, but the price was high and I don't need these.

AFTER SPENDING THE MORNING IN PAWHUSKA we headed out.
