SWITCHING WHAT WAS IN THE PANTRY WITH THE FOOD ITEMS STORED IN THE FLOOR TO CEILING CABINET didn't go quickly. Still taking place. I didn't get as far and I had hoped. Will continue on this tomorrow. Going up and down the step ladder was taking some caution as I didn't want to slip and fall.
I snapped photos of the bakeware. I have the bakeware. As I was moving them out of the PANTRY onto the work station table, I thought of recipes I have fixed in the bakeware through the years. One CORNING WARE dish screamed at me to make SHIP WRECK CASSEROLE again. Hubby loves it. I think I will surprise him and make some this coming week-end.
It has sliced potatoes, ground hamburger, baked beans, tomato soup, bacon. I guess it got its name because after eating it, you may wish you were ship wrecked away from people and they probably wish you were as well. ha.
The flavor of this casserole is delicious and like I said Hubby loves it. Since I'm trying to cut back on pork products, I will try turkey bacon instead and see if this changes the dish very much. This dish is a great thing to fix for larger size families.
Spray the baking dish first with cooking spray then go from there. I will need to see if I can find a written recipe so I don't mess this one up.
I worked some in my freezer today trying to make it more organized. After watching videos by some oriental women that have fantasy freezers that are incredibly organized, I decided I would use a trick they displayed with small cardboard boxes. I have a few boxes in my small roll out freezer now, one to hold beef products, one to hold chicken, one to hold turkey, one to hold bison, one to hold ice cream containers, one to hold misc. I will see about using one for frozen veggies and fruit. I HOPE this idea works at making my freezer less congested with less mess. Easier to identify what we have on hand when opening the freezer seeing what each box holds.
In between breaks and working on rearranging the Pantry and the other cabinet, I day dreamed about how the Kitchen remodel will go. I may go with a very pale gray color on the cabinets. Still thinking about this as it would match what we have going on in the Bathroom. Color theme flowing from one room to another is a good plan. Makes an attractive decorating statement.
Midweek is approaching. I will continue the rearranging of the Pantry. Figure it will take all of this week as slow as I am. Pacing myself is the way I must do this. Up and down the step ladder I go over and over. After the top three shelves are filled then I can work without the ladder. This will be far safer for me.
Then I'll return to the boxes in the Dining room. Hubby will repair the floor in front of the china cabinet to support the weight for the Blue Willow china. Once there was a floor furnace in front of where the china cabinet is now which needs some work done to it to stabilize the floor. By then the dishes will be found and I can play house with them. This should be a fun thing if nothing else.
Another goal accomplished and oh what a feeling that will be. Baby steps getting to where I need to go.
