OUR COMPANY VENTURED ON THEIR WAY ON FRIDAY before dangerous weather arrived. I stripped the bedding off of the bed and began to launder it. I remained HOME throughout the day and didn't go walking as planned. Taking a break from much. I thought it better to get some household chores caught up before having to spend the night in the cellar during threatening weather. Golf sized hail was predicted which causes serious damage to house roofs, cars and outdoor items.
We were blessed to have a quiet evening without wicked storms. It went around us. We had some rain without tornadoes and hail. PTL.
Slept well and made plans for my Saturday. We picked up our auto from our son-in-law's barn. He generously allowed us to keep our new car protected against the elements. Thankful. SATURDAY arrived and I knew I needed to run some errands. We were blessed and the wicked storms passed us by.
I visited with my daughter and had some tea with her. By this time my hip and leg were acting up. I knew I needed to leave her place and drive over to a different community to pick up my HUSBAND's medication before the Pharmacy closed for the day so off I went. HUBS stayed HOME to work on the garage doors. He's under the gun to get these carriage house doors built before the Insurance deadline. I knew I could drive by myself to pick up his meds, personally pay the phone bill then drive to Manhattan's TARGET to return some undershirts that were the wrong size.
I had hoped to goof off some while on my own in Manhattan, but my hip and leg had a different assignment. When I got out of the car to walk across the parking lot to TARGET'S entrance, my groin had a horrific pain shoot through it. I paused and stood in the parking lot wondering if I could make it to the door with each step was an intense pain.
Taking a hold of a shopping cart, I walked extremely slow dragging my leg to the Customer Service desk to return the undershirts. I'd prayed on the way that I not have to wait very long to get service as I needed to use the bathroom. Didn't get my way as two girls were at the counter with another lady standing in line. I managed to wait and when it was my turn, the clerk quickly took care of me. Visited the bathroom. By the time I finished my business, I had a shooting pain in my groin that went around to the backside making walking next to impossible.
Not able to apply pressure on the leg, I was now dragging my leg in an attempt to alleviate the discomfort. I wanted to get a grey tub rug and saw a cute door mat for $5. It took an effort to pick both items up from lower shelves and place in my buggy. I shuffled to SELF-CHECK as it didn't have a line as the lanes with humans doing the checking. I usually use the humans, but not today. It was if every second counted and I needed to slowly stroll to my car to drive HOME. Shopping trip was over. I managed to drive pain-free on the interstate back to my front lawn, but had to sit in the car to gather my composure as it hurt to move out of the carseat.
I waddled up my front steps and managed to walk to my chair. Hubby assisted me as I explained how I was not able to walk without intense pain. Ibuprofen, rest and a bag of frozen peas to the hip. When I had to waddle to the toilet across the house, I was moving like a turtle. It was excruciating to walk. By nightfall I was stiff legging it as I walked so the pain wasn't so bad.
SUNDAY was a nightmare. I was that close to going to the ER. The pain was intense. I spent SUNDAY down for the count studying up on the sour effects of FLUOROMETHOLONE. Deciding that I'd go to my Doctor in the morning instead of ER, I slept well and in the morning I was feeling better. Still a great deal of pain, but I am better.
After I put together a timeline about my hip, I think the meds caused some issues with my hip. Once the meds get into your bloodstream, it can cause hip issues. I added up one and one coming up with the perfect storm. I have issues with my tailbone. I've been walking and far stretching as I get into our new car that is higher than what my body is use to. One and one and one equals an inflamed hip and groin muscle. I decided to stay HOME icing my hip and groin, taking Ibuprofen, drinking fluids and resting my body to see if I continue to improve. Yesterday was a nightmare and I was getting very emotional about the intense PAIN. VERY EMOTIONAL. Today, I'm not crying.
Fluorometholone is a corticosteroid. I've had issues with taking a different medicine in this family before, Fluoroquinolone, where I know I will not ever take it again to my knowledge as it can cause tendons to rupture. RUPTURE. Hello somebody. Known fact. The 'fluoro' and the 'olone' in this family of meds is not for me. I'll have to make a note in my medical file to stay away from this stuff. I am a candidate for disaster when using this med. The Fluoro = Fluorine Atom and the Olone are the chemicals used to get there. These are my enemy. The steroids weaken my tendons causing issues. Why? Dunno exactly.
The Fluorometholone was for my eyes to help with inflammation after the YAP procedures. I only took it for five days, but during that time I became extremely fatigued like a zombie. It got into my bloodstream and caused me heartache. After I backtracked and made a timeline, I recognized that my hip had been acting up after I started the meds. Even though I didn't take the meds for more than 5 days, I had a systemic affect with the meds getting into my bloodstream causing extreme fatigue and affecting the hip with inflammation.
If I don't greatly improve in a few days I will definitely go to the doctors to see if I have bursitis, the start of AVN or something else. AVN is not where I want my hip to go as when the femoral head collapses a hip replacement is needed. All because of steroids? Lord help.
I now know that a natural eye drop could have been taken to help with the inflammation in the eyes. I'll be checking into what to do for dry eye and inflammation the natural way.
TIS MONDAY NOW. I'll be resting all day without doing chores. I've got to get better so I can do what I need to do as a wife and homemaker. I have to rest. One of the hardest things for me to do is REST and feel good about it.
Our dear Great Grand baby was released from the Hospital and this new family went HOME together. I pray all goes well. Baby was in NICU for only two weeks. Baby is a nice size for entering the world 6 weeks early and seems to be doing alright now. I know her momma and daddy were excited to take her to their home. Still praying.
What a pretty sight to see. A young family.
A cross, goblet, palm branch, crown of thorns wreath, a rooster, a stone, Spring flower. I liked this a lot. Where can I sit one out for my HOME? Perhaps on the antique walnut chest in the living room.
