Each year I Love touring the KSU GARDENS in Manhattan, Kansas to see their selection of Irises they showcase. This particular day, it was sunshiny and HOT. Still took some pics, but didn't zoom up close. Basically these semi-bad photos are to help me recall what I saw. I wasn't careful at getting the best angles. New camera in which I do not know how to crop the pics yet. Still learning new things as an old woman.
The rain had beaten many of the blossoms down. Last year, I walked the Gardens each week during the month of May and some in June as different specimens opened and then faded. Going the later part of May this year was almost too late as there weren't as many in bloom. Taking what I can get to enjoy.
Between the Irises and the Peony plants, it is impressive. The Irises have little fragrance, but the Peonies are perfume to the senses like a heavenly fragrance to breathe in. Amazes me the large selection and variety they have.
In July, the Day Lilies will bloom and it will be prolific as KSU has a huge area of them just waiting to showcase their beauty. I can only imagine.
The KSU GARDENS has a particular area for Irises, Peonies, Day Lilies and Roses. Outstanding lay out and it keeps morphing.
