A Day Of Rest

Truly, today was a day of rest as I stayed in my worn out pink housecoat and sat in my recliner staying away from the world.  After I woke up this morning I took my morning meds and brushed my hair.  I didn't change into day clothing nor did I intend to.

Morning coffee in the living room.  No breakfast.

The day was beautiful with light blue skies and no wind.  Cooler temperatures in the 70s.  No rain.  No storms.  The french doors have been open all day allowing the cooler air to fill the room.  The fresh air is a treat.

Just a beautiful day in my chair.  I was worn down from yesterday's activities working on gathering items to turn loose of.  Worked and sat in the heat until mid afternoon and felt weak.  Today I rested completely.  Having hopes of being more energetic for the week.  Thinking about what to work at accomplishing in the week to come.

I'll shampoo my hair and curl it in the morning and as it air dries I'll work on paperwork, vacuuming the area rugs and tending to dishes.  After my hair dries and I'm dressed for the day, I'll go to the grocery store and purchase a few items to make a home-made meatloaf for supper.  My afternoon will be busy with laundry and a quiet time to rest my feet and calm my head.

On my day of rest...had a serious discussion with my Husband about RETIREMENT.  Tis approaching in 2020.  Finances is a hot topic.  We have much to discuss.  We still have some bills that I wish we didn't.  We attended a Medicare meeting at the Library last week and I left with a knot in my gut.  Both my Husband and I were quiet as we left.

Conversation about what we heard wasn't.  This upsets me to have very little conversation and I have grown weary being the one to bring up serious talk about the important things in LIFE.  I do not believe we would ever speak about such matters if it were not my suggestion.

Makes me the   h e a v y  here
and I do not believe this is the way of having a                               balanced  relationship.

Cats out of the bag.  Meow.
We're talking.

We're inching along into what looks like a grown up phase of LIFE as my Husband turns 65 during the CHRISTMAS month.  We have much to discuss and figure out before that date.  Living on far less money has been done before.  I don't think I'm very excited about this.  Shall see how it goes.  God help us.  With HIS help we will make it!

A day of rest was needed and I took advantage of it.

Yawn,

Day Of Rest

DAY OF REST or DAY OF CATCHING UP WHAT DIDN'T GET DONE
DURING THE WEEK

DO we have anybody but ourselves to blame for being exhausted and staying that way
when the person in charge of activities gets in over their heads with activities on a day of rest?

When my children lived at HOME
we would have sports activities on SUNDAY.
Every Sunday and Holiday
when it should have been FAMILY TIME.
Over and over again, the day of rest was not honored and I'd get exhausted.

It's happening again where our day of rest ISN'T.
Oh a little bit of busy won't hurt anything or anyone.

It does.
Over tired and start off worn out before Monday even gets here.

I'm going to strive to slow way down on my day of rest.
Shall see if I get there.
What a lifestyle change that should have been honored all along.

Need help.  Need rest.
Need to have the presence of mind to REST
and let the world pass me by on my day of REST.
Need to be the one to HONOR what needs to happen.
AMEN

God can give me the strength to do this,
d

Hebrews 4:9-11 King James Version (KJV)

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

How To Slow Down

SOMETIMES we have to get ill to slow down.  Some are not good patients and continue to push too hard while sick when they should be resting at HOME in bed, drinking fluids and staying comfortable.

Stay At HOME Moms with young children don't always slow down.  Keep in motion anyways.  IN MOTION PEEPS are not limited to stay.at.home.mommas are they?  Not always women.  People in general that work in the public eye as well as behind closed doors sometimes keep burning the midnight oil when they shouldn't.

All kinds of people work with the public when hacking away with cough and a fever.  Coughing in the sleeve of a garment or into the elbow doesn't cut the mustard.  They say that they cannot afford to not be at work.  Still the public gets exposed to their germs with germs being exchanged back and forth.  Germs in the air.  Germs on the money.  Germs on the door handles.  Germs on toilets.  Germs on books, pens, phones, computer key boards, light switches.  Germs.

When we went to Guymon, Oklahoma to tend to details for my Father-in-law's funeral, the mortician sounded ill.  Bad cold.  He'd been battling pneumonia earlier in the winter.  He said usually you catch a cold when people are hacking and sneeze on you, but this year the doctor told him that these flu germs were just in the air.

Here's one for you.......

Have you ever wondered if people in high places spray germs into the atmosphere just to see how the germ strands affect people in certain zones so they can keep record of what germs did what so they can increase the intensity of the germs in other regions to see just how sick the peeps get to help kill off people to help depopulate the planet?

Chemtrails aren't real...or are they???  Sounds a bit like a conspiracy theory, doesn't it?...what if it's spot on?

What kind of people would do such a thing?  Wicked ones.  Evil ones.  Those that believe the earth needs depopulated to maintain the accurate number of humans per square footage for mother earth to stay balanced or what ever nonsense they promote.

Eugenics is an interesting topic.  Google.  One can go so far as to study up on who owns viruses and/or germs.  Patents.

Did David had multitude organ transplants aiming to live as long as he humanly could?  He passed away in March 2017
and entered eternity into which arena of the afterlife?

Guilty as charged.

You have to make a conscious decision to slow down when ill.  Under the weather.  Even when you're not ill.  Taking God seriously and following through when he says to rest one day a week makes for a healthier person.  How many times do you over extend yourself on the week-end when you should be unwinding.  Relaxing.  No shopping.  No sports events or practices.  On the go, go, go.  Not traveling.  Staying at HOME resting.  Taking it easy so your body and mind can rest up.

Ways to slow down.  Lighten the load.  Use paper products for the meals and snacks so washing dishes gets a break.  Eat sandwiches or crock meals.  Shopping already finished.  You get a break.  Have the laundry caught up before the day of rest.  Phone takes messages.  Only return emergency calls.  Lifestyle changes for life.  Just do it.

Be it ever so humble there's no place like HOME,

Need Some Rest

Turning loose of THINGS has mixed emotions attached to it.  As the nice lady and her neighbor loaded up my old freezer to take to a different location, I stared as if it were no big deal to watch their trailer disappear behind the lilac bush.  Like saying good-bye to an 'ole friend, my freezer disappeared for good.  I'll not be storin' me tupperware in ye no mo no how.  She was so happy to have come by our place to take a piece of us with her.  Sigh.  It's time to grow up and admit this appliance is not a person.  I can be happy for this LADY as she has a great freezer to add to her estate.

I want to thin down and downsize so this must be what I have to do to be as I inch my way toward retirement and a different phase.  I shake a bit as I cannot see the end from the beginning.

Last night as we carried the last of what was going to our garage for a Saturday sale, the night became a rash of activity to get the display floor looking inviting to those we did not know who'd be coming in the morning.  It's a wait and see where this all goes kind of event.

It poured that wet stuff called rain making the walk between the house and the detached garage a soggy trip.  Slip sliding away.

We stayed in the garage sweating as we arranged the items we wanted others to carry away so in the morning we wouldn't have to deal with later in the week.  I marked the last of the treasures around 2:30 am.  Sleep wouldn't come as my muscles ached.  I was having trouble switching gears to relax into a deep slumber.  I decided I'd go ahead and get back up out of my comfortable bed and fix early morning coffee.

Washed some dishes and made a few signs writing on flimsy poster board.  Poster board aint what it use to be.  Shucks...why is that at the dollar store?  Even the sizes have shrunk.  I managed at four in the morning to remember my address where I hang my hat and call HOME for letting others see the direction in which to go.  The signs.  Black fat marker and white poster board make alright posters to draw attention.

The rain poured throughout the night and we wondered if it would rain all day.  Here in Kansas you never know if the skies will be powder blue or misty grey.  Never.  It can take you by surprise and then some.

In a few hours strangers would hopefully be showing up at our garage for a miniature SHOPPE.  Not sure how it would all go...we were ready by 8.  Sale started at 9.  Chilly morn so hot coffee was in order.

In short order people began to stop and shop.  Mr. Selfridge was no where to be found to tell us there are x number of days until Christmas and the customer is always right.

We finished for the day at 4 and I needed a nap as Lil Miss watched Minions with her Grandpa.  I could no longer stay awake.  Think that sleep will be sweet tonight as I stretch out under the quilt as the fan blows over me and I hear the buzz of quiet over power me.

Which reminds me that I need to wash the sheets and comforter this coming week.  All the rooms in our HOME need a human touch to tidy them.  As we were going through the rooms gathering things to let go of, it was like a move was taking place.  What a season we are messily in.  If only I could work faster or had a crew to help.....I wondered if my Family room will ever look like it should or stay in a constant frenzy.  It's a mess around here.  Every dear room.  Shut my eyes and pretend it's not so.

I am in disbelief at this.  It's not a bad dream that I will awake from.  If it's going to become orderly once again I'll cross my fingers and be proactive in this endeavor.  Muscles and sweat.  Work awhile.  Sit awhile.  More boxes are needed for loading things to carry away.

This week I will try like heck to make quick work out of this.

The trees are lush green as SPRING sprung with leaks of moisture.  We went from smoky air due to the control burns in the Flint Hills that make me ill to SPRING rains that wash the environment with hope that there will be better conditions to admire the flowers in bloom.

I hope to be better at keeping a clean HOME if I should live another year.  I can see my HOME in my mind as I close my eyes to sleep how I'd like it to actual be with HOPE that this will become a reality.  Every night I say my prayers and then start daydreaming of walking through the rooms envisioning all that I'd like to accomplish.  It puts me to sleep.

A pleasant thing to think about when the world is so chaotic.

Some have thoughts of where to vacation, who they want for President, how to make ends meet, share a good work or how to create the next delicious food dish to feed a starving family on a shoe string.  Winning the lottery or how to get a raise in a career that doesn't seem to notice that it's bedtime.  Lifting concerns to our heavenly Father about every thing imaginable.

I draw a conclusion that we all need rest and I'm ready.

God bless,

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
