1925

If only the extra GUEST BEDROOM looked so pleasant, I would be pleased.

When I saw this illustration for a 1925 Guest Room, I sure liked it.  Not just because it's 1925, but because the room is so tidy.  I think a Guest would feel at HOME here while staying for a visit.  My Sis, Brother-in-law and Puppy are suppose to drop by for a couple of nights this week.  I have been working on figuring our meals out and will need to do some quick housekeeping so we are civilized.

Not sure what all I can accomplish today, but have a plan.

Our weather was SPRING-LIKE the past few days after the wind calmed down.  So nice for a spell.  Our flowers are popping through the soil which makes for remembering that it does not stay WINTER all year round here and SPRING is 5 MONDAYS AWAY!

Count Down is on.

We start planning for what to plant and transplant.  I'd LOVE to have so many more WHITE TULIPS and IRISES in the front flower bed.  After all blooms, I will take notice where they did and plan for where more will go when they can be planted.  Better take some pics.

I love soft PINK, but think this year if I can get my hands on WHITE GERANIUMS for the porch urns, I will have WHITE this year.

WHITE AND GREEN plants give me the impression of FRESHNESS and renewal.

In all truth, this WINTER has been difficult due to ill health during the whole month of DECEMBER and part of January...some into February.  SPRING is creeping slowly into the surroundings.  I won't be shy in saying that I have had to spend a great deal of time figuring out how to work these expenses into our BUDGET.  It is a LIVING LESSON and is helping me make adjustments now on how we will manage preparing for RETIREMENT when the day should come.

Watching videos on being FRUGAL.  Think I need to make SMOOTHIES full of nutrition and goodness to drink.  I don't know why I let taking VITAMINS slip right on by without continuing to take them to assist our immune systems.  A bad case of aging brain.

I continue to gather items that we will turn loose of so the clutter is no more.  ORDER will be such a part of my daily routine.  ONCE again the Dining room is our staging area.  AND I am thankful we have this space to work in.  It's a bit daunting when I think of what needs to be done.

Each evening, we enter the cellar aka called the dungeon, to gather items to place elsewhere on our ESTATE.  Items that can be turned loose of are collecting in the Dining room.  I seem to go back and forth on what to give away and what to possibly sell.

We will place a clothing rack in there to hang clothing on so it is now out of the closets and drawers.  There is no other place to place it as I continue working on this expedition.

Missed the Sunday Night episode of Downton Abbey due to poor television reception, I will have to tune in on ROKU this week and see all the excitement.  Already had SPOILER ALERTS so I know the SHOW is coming to an end and all is what it is.

February is coming to a close.  Groundhog Day celebrated with groundhog not seeing shadow indicating SPRING will be here soon, Shrove Tuesday with HOMETOWN PANCAKE DAY took place,  Valentine's Day Sweetness.  Two Grandsons' birthdays.  Winter trips to see them!  Plans for cleaning and making due.  MARCH where are you?

During the month of March, I will be raking the lawns and flowerbeds, etc.  I'd like to edge along side the sidewalks.

This week I need to catch up on laundry.  Next nice spell in the weather, the porch will be clean and the porch furniture washed.  This will be.

It is helpful to JIBBER JABBER.  Helps me get focused.
Blessings,

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
