AS WE GO THROUGH BOXES there seems to be a tug a war going on within me. If there is something that we really aren't using then I can get rid of it by throwing it away or donating or selling it OR or or or or. These things are keeping me in some type of bondage that holds me back from advancing and calling this getting settled done. A type of sickness that I need released from. This is ridiculous. I truly need to be faster at releasing.
SAY A PRAYER and let go. It's as if THINGS have more of a hold on me than I want to admit. I'm admitting that I have a problem that I no longer want to wear.
I came across with what is known as a metal nut pick. We may have used it two times in the last umpteen years. 40? I believe we can get rid of it. That thought of but you might need it just crossed my thought life.
A corn cob scraper...still has the tags on it. Am I really going to use this THANG? No, probably not. It will just take up space in a drawer that I really need for what I actually use. What in me is broken to where I save such stuff?
It'll come in handy someday and then you'll wish you still had it? I'll take my chances and let it go. There. I have matured or kind of fixed what was wrong. The struggle is real.
The KITCHEN is almost done. It's been a slow process. TODAY, I think I will round up more junk to turn loose of and take to the THRIFT STORE so they can sell it. We have been turning loose of stuff for a while now and I'm still not at the bottom of the barrel. Mind boggling.
SO what? The what is, I have a deep desire to be better organized to where I am contented to have this order that I desire. It high time I get into the 21st century. I know how hard it was to get things in my past and I don't want to nonchalantly let go of it. THAT's the rub.
OKAY SELF...listen to yo' self. You want order, but you are having a tug a war within that you have been having with yourself through the years. Who's winning? That thing within that doesn't want to let go and move on.
Is it some kind of security blanket that I wrap myself in to hold onto the past that is safely tucked away in the archives? What would be the harm if I get rid of something and then happen to need it in the future? Wouldn't there be another that I could purchase? DO I really NEED IT?
Instead of doing THINGS with my time that would bring me joy or fill me with satisfaction that are more productive, I tend to hold back and play it safe messing with being in a rut. Going round in circles. Time is passing and I'm not getting any younger. Dear Deanna, let it go.
I seem to be in between a rock and a hard place as some would say. Take your strength and crawl out from behind the rock. Take in some fresh air. The past is the past and that gadget you are holding onto is useless to you. Let go.
Truthfully, I need to let go and move on instead of holding back. There are more important things in life than to have a drawer full of odds 'n ins that isn't going to be used EVER by me.
Okay, I will turn loose. Like peeling another layer of a onion. When I get to the center of the onion, I will probably have forgotten why I started peeling the onion in the first place. It made me cry.
MOVING FORWARD ON THE HOME FRONT. I managed to get the labels off of the new fridge storage bins, wash the bins and place them in the fridge after making room rearranging the interior of the fridge. Looks pretty good. I like it. I have four of these new larger bins. One bin is filled with different types of peppers. Hubby loves his peppers. One is full of cruciferous produce like cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower. The other two are full of more veggies like tomatoes, radishes, green beans, snap peas, scallions, carrots. Doing these bins has made way for a drawer that holds only cheeses and another that holds boxed lettuces, leaf spinach and spring greens. The larger pull out drawer holds fruit that needs refrigerated. Whalaah. Done. ANOTHER SMALL PROJECT COMPLETED. PTL.
I have several smaller, narrower bins that are easier to slide out and reach into the fridge to get the goods that holds half 'n half, almond milk, buttermilk and regular milk. The fridge door shelves have butter and cream cheese. A shelf just for salad dressings and mayo. A shelf for ketch-up, mustards, pickles, relishes and olives. Jelly and jams. Salsa.
SUZY HOMEMAKER HERE that prides herself with how the inside of the fridge looks. No offense to SUZY.
I still am thinking about an extra fridge out in the utility room that will hold only fruits and veggies where the Kitchen fridge holds everything else. We have a tiny chest freezer in the cellar for overflow like large turkeys and hams.
I'd like to not be having a tug of war of any kind. Just be set free and feel the burden being lifted from my shoulders. AMEN. We seem to choose some battles we get ourselves involved in. Not always, but sometimes. This sometime needs to be marked up as experience and go on.
Hubby will have some labs done this week. It's International PANCAKE DAY today in Liberal, Kansas where I grew up. VALENTINES DAY tomorrow. A grandson's 14th birthday. Getting more settled. Clean the cars out and vacuum them. Praise the Lord we have a place to call HOME.
Well, I guess I ought to go round up some JUNK to take to the thrift shoppe and not be too concerned that I no longer need it. LET GO. Think I'll shampoo my hair and give it a good trim and curl it. After it dries, it will be easier to manage. A SPRING do. Today when I run my errands, I do believe I will put a little make-up on to wear. Freshen up a bit. I'd like to go see if the thrift shop has any pretty spring/summer blouses that would work for me as I will be preparing for SPRING WEATHER. 35 days til SPRING!!!!
