LONG DAY. We traveled to the courthouse in a different community to drop off a payment for this years car tags. Tis different this year as one cannot enter the courthouse due to Covid 19. Dropped the payment off and then the tag sticker will be mailed to us. Doing things by mail these days in so many ways. Tis doable just like in the pioneer days by mail and stagecoach. Love it knowing that we can do this.
The scenery is so green and lush this time of year. Our little car was acting up so when he looked under the car, Hubby said there was an oil leak. We traveled HOME and switched cars to find out that under the hood of our good car a packrat had made a nest.
PACK RATS will destroy your car. A PACK RAT. They are something else. Get them out of the hood of the car. The nest was cleaned out and we left for our next stop.
We journeyed to TOPEKA. Nice day for an outing. We went to TUESDAY MORNING looking for new 96" curtains for the French doors. Adding some privacy for us in the evenings. We wore our masks and gloves. If my shopping is quick I do alright, but if I stay longer than 20 minutes, I have trouble breathing and fogging up my glasses.
I had read that the TUESDAY MORNING stores in my area will be closing. I could cry. I sure like these shoppes. Whaaaah. We get our thin ginger snaps there. I have purchased everything from bedding to curtains, rods, make-up, dishes, china, clothing, crystal, toys, soap, candy, food, to stationery to you name it and I have purchased it over the years. Rugs, carpet, suitcases, toilet bowl cleaning brushes, decorations, dolls. My heart sinks a little bit as I type this.
Walking through the store knowing that this will probably be my last visit to this particular location made me sigh. HUBBY checked us out so I could go cool off in the car waiting for him. We had a nice shopping experienced. Cooled off and went to SAMS. Mask back on and gloves. I headed for the coffee pods, cups and bottled water as HUBBY went to select vegetables and a little meat.
We met up, checked out and went home. Had supper and now I am exhausted. Have to rest. Think I will journey via computer back to COWTOWN in WICHITA. I love the MURDOCK HOUSE.
While surfing on the computer and Hubby watching a movie...it happened. Earlier in the day he took the bat repellant box that was in the screened in porch and relocated it to be by the good car to ward off PACKRATS. Welp...we had the French door open to let inside fresh air. A bat had entered the porch and well hello there appeared a brown bat flying about out living room. I jumped up saying, "Jesus, Help us." He did. My Husband ushered the bat back into the porch area. He shut the door and I stood there shaking. Makes me weak in the knees. A deep sigh. I HATE BATS. I didn't sleep the best. I didn't sleep. This is the time of year that the bats come looking for places to nest and have pups. I'm not a fan.
So our day was challenging. Oil issues and wondering if we'd get home. Packrat under the hood of our good car. Shopping with mask. Ended the night with a bat flying around the room. Never again.
Blessings to you,
d
