Summer Tour of the Seelye Mansion
in Abilene, Kansas allowed me to see their Kitchen and made me wonder what might be cooking at the mansion especially on this very HOT day.
We came down the Servant's Stairs
into the well furnished Kitchen to see all the details involved with cooking.
ALSO some delicate china the Seelyes used.
Beautiful Haviland China.
Many Dinner Parties later, the fine china sits in cabinets
for on lookers to admire.
Radiator under the sink to keep the sink waters warm during cold weather months. How handy is that.
Another modern convenience making task easier to accomplish. Done comfortably.
Laundry Shoot to the Basement
A Toilet on the landing between the Kitchen
and Basement.
Privacy Issues I'm sure.
No pun intended BUT who would want to use this landing toilet
that didn't have a door on the little room.

Having an indoor toilet and running water would have been a wonderful benefit, but give me privacy while doin' me business!
We'd continue touring the mansion
into the Basement to see the utility area
and go BOWLING.
