Jack LaLanne - Talks about the best meal plan....

WATCHING THE SHORT VIDEO OF JACK ON NUTRITION DAY IS WORTH SEEING.

In a nut shell, the meals are as follow:

BREAKFAST
FRESH FRUIT OR FRESH FRUIT JUICE
EGGS, MEAT OR BOTH
WHOLE WHEAT TOAST WITH HONEY
BLACK COFFEE OR SKIM MILK

LUNCH
RAW VEGETABLE SALAD
MEAT, FISH OR LOW CALORIE COTTAGE CHEESE

DINNER
RAW VEGGIE SALAD
2 OR MORE UNDERCOOKED VEGETABLES
MEAT OR FOWL
FRESH FRUIT AND YOGURT
ARE THESE STILL A BEST MEAL PLAN?

AS THE YEARS WENT BY, Jack let it be known that he did not drink coffee or eat meat.  He did eat fish so I suppose he meant he didn't eat beef, chicken, lamb, or pork.  Wine was acceptable with dinner.

Brown Rice helps with fighting diabetes.
That's a good one to know.

Exercise

1) Coffee  2) Sugar
3) Dairy

Milk

Jack was ahead of the times in many ways and he appealed to stay-at-home HOMEMAKERS that were isolated taking care of families and housework.  If my memory serves me correctly, at 9 in the morning his television program came on.  My Mom watched him and as a child when I was HOME from school,
I watched him.

He was enthusiastic and easy to listen to.
I like the idea of doing easy exercises in my own HOME
using kitchen chairs, brooms and towels.

Many of the weight machines that we use today were created by him.  Doctors and so many thought he was nuts.  He was into juicing before it was popular.
He was one man with ambition to help others.

AFTER TWO YEARS OR SO, Intermittent FASTING does not work for me.  Okay.  I'm one of those that falls through the cracks.  Will try Jack LaLanne's meal plans and see if I stabilize and lose weight.  I seem stuck to stay FAT.  If a woman eats fruits, vegetables, lean meat, and whole wheat  plus exercises BUT doesn't lose weight, which hormones should be checked?  Cortisol???

PAPERWORK TODAY this afternoon after my soaking bath.  Going to soak for at least 30 minutes.  Isn't that something for setting a GOAL for the day?  Take a SOAKING bath?

Typical Day here on the prairie.  Laundry is rumbling in the wash machine.  Banking Business taken care of.  Medical information taken care of.  Called Mom and chatted.  Took a short NAP around 2:30.  Weighed myself and am getting frustrated.

Had 2 cups (180 calories) of Potato Leek Soup for Breakfast and three fried eggs (210 calories) for Lunch.  Snack was a mashed up banana (105 calories) to make banana pudding sprinkled with shredded coconut (48.5 calories) on top and iced green tea.  Supper will be veggies and protein?  May have Black Bean Salsa with Organic Blue Chips.  A treat.  Can't remember the last time I had chips.  If not, salad is always a good choice for me.

I believe I need to rise early in the mornings and dedicate this time to exercise and devotions.  Eat three square meals a day about the same time each day for each meal.  8 for breakfast, 1 for lunch and 6 for supper.

At my July Physical I will talk to my Doctor about checking my cortisol levels, going off of meds that cause weight gain, increased cholesterols and increased blood glucose switching to something else.  I have greatly changed what and when I eat so I think I need some attention directed to my hormones.  Period.  πŸ©ΊIf the doc won't help me, I need to help myself and I think that's what I am working on.  Spoken like a TROOPER.

Most Gracious Heavenly Father, I will study your beautiful WORD about foods, clothing and attitude.  I so love you and know there is no one higher than you.  You are my GOD.  You are what matters.  Walking uprightly before you matters.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

SMOOTH OPERATOR

~SMOOTH OPERATOR~
You can be one rather easily.

With a smooth SMOOTHIE.

Healthy turns casual and delicious to sip.
Can I get an AMEN?  AMEN.

Blend altogether and serve.

There's nothing wrong with making HOMEMADE SMOOTHIES at HOME.  I've made a few, but think I would benefit with tasting some that are made at a shop so I get a general idea what I'd like to copy at HOME.

TO ASSIST ME IN THIS HEALTH JOURNEY, I PURCHASED A 2025 BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS MAGAZINE ABOUT smoothies FRUITS, VEGETABLES, PROTEINS & MORE.

It will become a helping tool for me to making nutritious smoothies.

If I can start out with one smoothie a week, then I might gain some confidence to increase the smoothies each week.  πŸ₯›

The magazine is more like a book without advertisements.  I take that back as the inside front cover is a ad for BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS REALTY and the back cover for PETA and WALMART.  Throughout the magazine are very nicely done pictures per each smoothie.  A nice companion to have for someone that is new to this HEALTH KICK.

I believe I can visit a SMOOTHIE SHOP in Manhattan when I go for all day shopping trips. Perhaps have a smoothie instead of a full blown meal.  Tis doable.

Hubby is going to get a hair cut in Manhattan.  I believe I will go along and then afterwards get a SMOOTHIE for a LUNCH substitute.

Some might call a milkshake a SMOOTHIE.  REMEMBER THE DELANY SISTERS?  The Delany Sisters had vanilla milkshakes for their evening meal.  Sounds like a winner to me.  Each lived well into their hundreds.  d. Sadie (Sarah)109.  d. Bessie (Annie Elizabeth) 104.

I am so impressed with how these two lived their lives.

HERE's TO LIVING GOOD CLEAN LIVES without apologizing for it.  God is still on the throne and prayer changes things.

PLEASE PASS THE CHOCOLATE TEA

I STAYED HOME  and rested most of yesterday.  I needed to in order to heal.  My plans went to the wayside and that's alright.  I stayed flexible.  A new day WILL dawn.  Lifting heavier items will take place next Tuesday.  I have to find things that I can do as I recover from medical procedure.

The laundry can keep.  I can write out the bills a little at a time as my energy level is extremely low.  I truly am in slow motion.  I tried to clean our small counter top oven with oven cleaner. Round one was accomplished, but it needs another coat of cleaner.  Got that far.  Loaded a cardboard box with bathroom supplies.  Sorted through piles of paper.  Made copies of medical reports.  Thumbed through piles of reading material that my Mom had given me.  A few magazines were quickly looked through.  Researched medical issues on the computer.  Trimmed some of my hair attempting to make wispy bangs.  Ordered a health book on the internet along with multi-clothing hangers.  Looked through bills.  Sat and rested.  Blogged.  Prayed.  Oh I forgot...we ordered some chocolate tea from Off Grid With Doug and Stacy (dot) com.  This is a treat that I am looking forward to tasting and enjoying this SUMMER!

CHOCOLATE TEA!!!

Having to rest instead of actively packing is hard for me.  SOOOO I'M geared up.  Makes me a bit restless.  TAKE A DEEP BREATH and go ahh.  It will be alright.

I truly am fatigued as the medical papers I was given following the Tuesday procedure said I would be.  Not suppose to assert myself for a week.  Take naps throughout the day.  I ate a light supper.

Focusing on the amount of water I will be drinking each day.  I can feel hunger pangs and try to ignore them as I am cutting calories for weight reduction to take place.  A large healthy salad will be made and slowly eaten around 11 meaning I had a intermittent fast.  I couldn't stand the hunger late last night so I ate a small salad and drank a small amount of orange juice.  This helped.

I can at least type up on google docs a list of my daily food intake tracking what I'm eating each day and how much I ate.  Calorie count.  I know some do not like counting calories.  Until I get the hang of eating completely different, the calorie counting assists me in downsizing the number of calories that I eat per day.  Also helps me make sure I am eating the variety of foods I need to follow a food program for reduction.  I can stop myself from popping stuff in my mouth if I know it will push me over the limited amount of calories I am aiming for each day.

Has the thought come to mind what kind of person you desire to be in line with what the Lord would desire for you?  When I am taking time to rest, I have thoughts like this which I believe are constructive.  How productive am I?  Am I on track?  Am I doing all that I should?  Are there areas of my LIFE I can lay down or pick up?  Am I living LIFE the way the LORD would like me to?

Sometimes when a person is so ill with low energy levels, it can cause one to think that one is useless.  Firmly embrace that you have value and worth even when ill.  An active prayer life can minister to the weakened individual.  You may not be able to physically do all that you wished you could at the moment, but truly there is hope in our Lord when visiting with Him about everything.  Waiting upon the LORD matters.

Have you a personal relationship with the Savior JESUS?  His yolk is easy and His burden is light.  He is the purest form of truth there is.  None is purer.

~d

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

ONE OF THOSE MOODS

I WAS OFFENDED BY SOMETHING MY HUSBAND DID.  He told me that he and I would talk about our plans on going to see our son and grandson before replying back to our son with our plans.  Well, he didn't and I took it badly.  He replied before we had our talk.  Due to some of our HISTORY together, this triggered a response from me that required a great deal of prayer and some time apart from him.

I had grocery shopping that needed done so I took this as the opportunity to get away for a few hours to process my emotions.  While I was out, it rained so I decided I did not have to be in a hurry shopping.  I sat in the car a great deal and talked to the LORD about it all.  He listened and I took my time explaining.

Checking Home Depot out for Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products, they were out.  Over to ALDI to purchase some organic things and then HY-VEE for more organic.  I didn't come away with green beans, cherries and there was something else I wanted to get, but have already forgotten what that was.  Oh well, it'll come to me later.

I'll make a trip to the Hardware Store and pick up Mrs. Meyer's Dish Detergent and liquid hand shop.  Pretty sure they have these products.  Topeka's Home Depot has a huge selection of her products, but I wasn't going to go to Topeka until later in the week.  Mrs. Meyer's Products Made With Plant-derived Ingredients & Essential Oils.  Is what I'm looking for.

There was a time I didn't want to spend the extra money for her product, but I think they are a worthwhile product safer for human use.  SO Mrs. Meyer's it is.

By the time I returned HOME from shopping, I took a break in my chair, rested and proceeded to put veggies and fruit in fridge after cleaning out the fridge to make room for the goods.  My fridge seems to get so messy quickly that it amazes me how two grown-ups can be so messy.

During the CO V ID Pandemic, I worked at being better organized with my Kitchen cabinets and fridge.  I managed for awhile then discovered that it does require upkeep all the time.  Tadaah...I'm still working at that.

I still feel GOOD about having a well stocked refrigerator and pantry.  Have for years and I hope to continue.  The HOME ECONOMICS of HOMEMAKING is an ART!  and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.  It is.

After I settled down for the evening in my chair and watched a movie, I was a more civil woman.  I did not go to bed ANGRY.  This was progress.

Tomorrow, I hope to be in a better mood,

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.”

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
