EARLY MORNING THIS MORNING. I'm so glad I woke when I did. Filled the kitchen sink with hot soapy water placing last night's dishes in it. I ran out of LILAC SCENTED MRS. MYERS DISH DETERGENT so I used MINT SCENTED instead.
When shopping I went searching for the lilac scented, no can find. So disappointed as it is an awesome scent like a sniff of springtime. I'll have to see if AMAZON can help me out finding some. Tidied the Living room some. Placed a load of laundry in the machine. Placed shampoo and towel on Kitchen countertop for shampoo in a few minutes. Took morning meds. Figured my day out.
Ready to go. Need to go looking for a window unit air conditioner. We will eventually get a new central air unit, but for now a window unit will suffice our small COTTAGE. It will be a large investment putting a new air and heating system in. Want to wait until later to replace the one we have. It needs more freon, but at the present rate, the freon is too expensive. We've already done this and we have a leak. It makes more sense to get a new unit altogether. So we will. Just not right this minute.
We had one of the latest SUPPER's ever last night, but it was well worth it. The Bison Pot Roast turned out and was delicious. There is enough leftover to make a stew. Thursday maybe.
All the dragging of my feet was silly. The herbs in the pot roast made the dish. I feel more confident now. Praise the LORD. Will share recipe later.
Earlier in the season, we had purchased Bison Pot Roast, some steaks, sausage, ground. It's a different way of cooking if you want tender meat. Another hurdle in cooking. Another feather in my hat!
Tender and tasty. The recipe I used took 3 hours of cooking in a DUTCH OVEN instead of 8 hours in a crockpot. At my beginner's level, it took about 30 minutes to prepare then bake, but I did it and am better for it. Lesson 101 for Bison was a success. 'A plus' moment.
While preparing the Bison, my mind wondered how the Native Americans prepared their Bison to eat in the open when the Buffalos roamed the countryside when they did. They were roughing it, but knew what they were doing.
I pray that today my energy returns so I can get much done. I'll start by checking the mail, watering the porch plants, shampoo my hair and go to town. Need to get going before the temps heat up making the going more challenging for an older woman that doesn't move as fast as she use to, but has fun getting out and about.
