Hello Once Again

Hello once again from the Kansas Flinthills...

It's been COLD, snowy and icy. Uncomfortable weather. Christmas is fast approaching with still much to do before I can sigh with relief that I am ready.
Christmas letters and cards are mailed. Christmas gifts taken care of. A Christmas tree is decorated in the Family room, a Nativity Scene is on top of the Parlor piano. Christmas wreaths hang on the doors and Santas are displayed in the Diningroom. Menus have been planned and foods bought. Though I work at planning the preparations in advance so all is ready for company for the Holidays, I am running behind. An out of town Aunt passed away and a day was set aside for her funeral. An out of town Wedding was attended as well. I still have major house cleaning that I have got to get done before Tuesday happens. I have hopes of being relaxed when our out of town company arrives. When I have completed my planning and preparations ahead of time, it helps me to relax. Some put down the planning. Some don't understand that it's alright to plan ahead and be better prepared for the big event. I've come to know that planning is alright. Jesus himself told those that He left behind that He was going to prepare a place...
So if my Lord thinks that preparations are needed then hey I want to be like Him!
Above all else, I want to say "Have a very Merry Christmas!" I want to sing Happy Birthday JESUS.

Til next time,

Areas Of Interest On Blog

I will slowly be deciding what direction this blog will go. Hopefully pictures and artwork will become a fixture on here.
Also will be deciding what areas of discussion I will cover.
Thinking about financial, frugal tips, health and beauty, interior decorating, spiritual matters, current events, political views...basically whatever interest me.
Short entry today.
Gotta run.
Don't forget to pray.

Dreaming TOO Much!

Hello from the Kansas Flinthills.
Only have a minute. Quick note.
It's been close to a week since I took the plunge and created a long awaited BLOG.
WOW. Did I really start a blog? I will decide along the way how detailed this will morph into. Should be interesting to me at least.

Word of caution...don't make the mistake of dreaming way too much.

I'm not saying don't dream at all,
but if all you do is dream without following thru with making plans, without applying effort and energy then you might be dreaming way too much. If you're wanting the dreams to come to pass, then you're going to have to do more than just dream about it.

If all we get done is to dream and nothing happens then what? You might be entering into a fantasy world that doesn't become a reality.

Don't forget to pray.

Til next time,
Deanna

Home Haven Ministry is birthed.

Well, here I go. I have been wanting to create a blog for nearly 5 years...one thing has lead to another and I didn't get to it. Partly because I didn't know how and partly because I thought this was way too difficult to do on my own. Today I decided I would give it a big heeve hoo and see what happened. So here we go! Did this actually work or will I have to get assistance?
Hope it worked.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

BLOSSOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED
As long as I live, I will have to continually submit to God's plan for my life. You will be blessed because you turned your life over to God. Be confessing how good God is and tell Him you agree with who He says He is. BELIEVE and watch miracles happen. Be not afraid. ~Deanna

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
