Cooler air drifts indoors with the sound of crickets chirping in the yard. I think they like the cooler weather as well. Sadly their chirps are a.n.n.o.y.i.n.g. me today.
T O D A Y they do not remind me of cherished days gone by when I was young visiting family in eastern Kansas where trees were a plenty. TODAY they just remind me that I want some quiet and they're not helping matters. CHIRP. CHIRP. CHIRP.
The french doors are open to where I can stare outdoors into a very grey sky. Not gloomy. Cooler weather is WELCOMED. Pumpkins... and trees changing colors come to mind. They usually do when I have had too much heat for too long and want things to cool off. The same thing happens when it's too cold for too long desiring some warmth. Not present in the season.
Southwest Kansas where I grew up being a 3year old child until turning almost 19 on the verge of adulthood, was known to have extremely dry air in Liberal...until farmers overwhelmingly used irrigation which over time changed the climate to a more humid one. Still we had crickets a plenty.
Song birds are singing.
These I will enjoy in the cool of the day.
TODAY I will rest like it is half a Sabbath. Week-end was a busy one with traveling involved. Having plenty to do, I will get done what I can as I really need to clean out the fridge and figure out what we will have for SUPPER on a MONDAY NIGHT.
Looks like I need to use up some broccoli and asparagus also a cauliflower. If I boil some eggs this afternoon I could fix a faux potato salad using cauliflower instead of potatoes. Cut some carbs and calories.
Y E S T E R D A Y on the way HOME from Oklahoma we shopped at SAMs to get Marie Callender Chicken Pot Pies for SUPPER. Delicious. I knew I'd be too tired to cook, but not too tired to eat. grins. ARE these pies made of GMOs? Will check it out.
MARIE CALLENDER is a CONAGRA BRANDS company food.
This IS what they say about their products:
GMO and Genetic Modification
Conagra Brands agrees with the FDA and numerous trusted scientific bodies and regulatory agencies (World Health Organization, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) that foods and beverages that contain ingredients derived from genetically modified organisms (GMO) are safe and nutritious to eat. Given the potential for GMO to improve the quality, sustainable availability and nutritional value of food, we support its responsible use when based on sound science and appropriate regulatory and safety reviews.
Is it going to get to where everything you buy to eat has been genetically engineered and modified? I think it is going to get this way. MONSTERS walk the land. MONSTERS willingly being gods over how things are ran in this old world pretending to be angels of light when they are as dark in spirit as it can be.
Unless you go a different route preserving heirlom seeds and grow organic food yourself banning with others who market natural foods that have not been altered by Mo*s*n*o you may not be able to get anything in the natural state that GOD created for people to eat.
More lowered immune systems and diseased organs will abound. Higher doctor bills and becoming a cash cow for an illuminated medical field and government.
FDA.
Numerous TRUSTED scientific bodies. (Who TRUST them and why?)
Scientific BODIES.
World Health Organization.
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
These swing a pretty big stick in global agencies.
Sigh.
What does it really mean?
Who gives these organizations all their power and authority?
Who runs these things?
More to come.
LAST WEEK when I was doing laundry at the mat, I munched down on a snack mix by General Mills and noticed on the package that GMOs were used in this product sooooo...I contacted them via email. They answered me as I was wondering what ingredients in this mix was GMO'd.
"...if a food or beverage product lists corn, soy, canola, cottonseed, beet, sugar, papaya or squash, or their derivatives, as an ingredient – and if the product is not organic – it likely contains genetically engineered ingredients."
Oops. I no likey GMOs or genetically engineered products.
WHAT's a person to do? Avoid GMOs? Yes.
The flowery verbiage used isn't comforting me. I wonder how many dollars 'they' spent getting just the right words to use with the public to ease the consumers anxieties toward GMOs and genetically altered ingredients?
THE BROAD GLOBAL CONSENSUS......
'We use GMO ingredients in some of our products.
The broad global consensus among food and safety regulatory bodies that approved, genetically modified ingredients are safe, gives us the confidence to use them in our products that we share with our families and yours.'
Deanna here: I'm not sure who the broad global regulatory bodies are that approved genetically modified ingredients which gives them confidence to use the ingredients as safe. In my humble opinion the CONFIDENCE I think they're referring to IS the MONEY THAT WILL BE MADE from selling their products. ChaChing. Confidence = profit in the bank.
Probably the same regulatory bodies as Conagra Brands states are the ones General Mills is referring to:
FDA.
Numerous TRUSTED scientific bodies. (Who TRUST them and why?)
Scientific BODIES.
World Health Organization.
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Dear Ms. ********************
Thank you for contacting General Mills about GMO ingredients.
We use GMO ingredients in some of our products. The broad global consensus among food and safety regulatory bodies that approved, genetically modified ingredients are safe, gives us the confidence to use them in our products that we share with our families and yours.
Additionally, the vast majority of our U.S. products contain ingredients grown in North America, which has widely adopted the use of biotechnology to improve agriculture. In the US, if a food or beverage product lists corn, soy, canola, cottonseed, beet, sugar, papaya or squash, or their derivatives, as an ingredient – and if the product is not organic – it likely contains genetically engineered ingredients.
We know that some consumers prefer products without genetically modified ingredients and we’re proud to offer organic and non-GMO brands like Annie’s, Cascadian Farms, Muir Glen and LARABAR. – For more information about our position on GMOs, and a list of our products and information about whether or not they contain GMO ingredients, please go to: www.generalmills.com. It can be found by clicking on NEWS and then ISSUES.
We appreciate your interest, and hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any additional questions or comments, please let us know.

LIFE is getting more and more interesting as I go. Cool.
Who's drinking the Kool-Aid?
Cool?
I'll need to unpack today, clean out the fridge, look over the bills, hang some clothing in the closets, fix Supper and clean up the mess. If I can muster up the energy, I'll sweep the Kitchen floor and the Master Bedroom. Have to play this by ear.
We were blessed to get to go to OKLAHOMA to celebrate our youngest Grandson's 5th Birthday. Great fun. Quick trip there, spend the night and return to KANSAS the next day. I can feel my age and I remember my in.laws saying I think our traveling days are over. I'm not ready to say that about traveling as I love going to see my kids and grands. Also I'd like to go see some sights in the great 'ole USA.
I pray we are well enough to do some traveling as I'd like to go to every state in the United States and see some sights. I told my Husband that I would like to go to North Dakota or Wyoming and camp out in a cabin for a week just watching the sky change colors not being bothered by humans. Just sit and think out loud. No traffic, no airplanes, no people. Just sit and think in the quiet..... reading. Sippin' bottle water, coffee with cream and munching on a salad and/or sandwich. No COOKIN', BAKIN, no dishes to wash. No laundry to do. No bills to write out wishing I was independently wealthy. Perhaps my mind set will change and the bills won't have so much weight to them. Perhaps.
As this week begins, there are hopes of cooler weather with a nice meal together with my sweetheart to celebrate a wedding anniversary. 45 years. Pause.
Our 45th wedding anniversary. It was a rainy day when we married. My wedding dress had long sleeves instead of short like one would wear in the HOT Summer time. It was suiting as it was a gorgeous dress to walk from one stage of life into another being escorted by my dear FATHER down the grass aisle to the altar where the minister and wedding party stood waiting for THE BRIDE.
I love this tradition. The Father gives the daughter away to her future Husband who is to be her covering, protector, provider, confidant, lover.
I said, "I DO!" and became a MRS. No longer a child living under my Parents' HOME, but a young woman with a Husband and the beginnings of making a LIFE and HOME TOGETHER as HUSBAND AND WIFE. I believe it has been an adventure and a half.
HUBBY is making plans to retire in 2020. ANOTHER ADVENTURE as we have had a few in our marriage. He'll turn 65 in December. I remember well when we started out as a married couple in college. Things morphed right along and we are where we are in the year 2019. It is 2019, right? 2019.
THRILLED to receive in the mail the tube of suzanne somers organic garnet colored lipstick that I ordered! This came in as well as Dr. Mercola's Feminine products I ordered to see what I think about organic sanitary products. Humpf. A little small for an ole gal my size. Will try them anyways to see what I think about not having chemical laced pads up against my body part where the sun don't shine.
Have you ever wondered if women that develop fibroid tumors might be developing these because of feminine products they use as well as wear that are chemically laced with pesticides that are in or up against next to sensitive body parts? I have. The more I know the more I want to change. Cool.
Who's drinking the Kool-aid with me?
