After opening up the Family room window to let some SPRING indoors, the cool breeze gently blows into the house which freshens my inner spirit. Pleasant. Relaxing and much needed. April's Easter is a pastel memory. My ceramic bunnies are still out waiting to be returned to their off season storage boxes.
No hurry. SPRING is here. Blue skies today as the birds chirp.
One thing about my HOME in small town America, is the abundance of birds that choose to sing from the tree branches melodies that harmonize in the key of nature. Even in the dead of WINTER, the birds sing. This reminds me of SPRING all year round.
A bright red cardinal and red robin were skipping along in the yard looking for worms I suppose. Orchestrated music of four different birds can be heard. The cooing Dove is a favorite. Right now a Wood Pecker is hammering at a tree. Not even the disturbance of the passing train interrupts this guys determination.

Slowing down in life has it's advantages. To be able to quiet oneself and focus on such things as living in God's Garden. It's what I seek and desire. When I was a young child, my carefree moments were like this. I missed out when I stopped having such moments as a young adult. I polluted my head with worry and too much work.
Busyness has no time to embrace slow paced arenas filled with heavenly admiration.
A big mistake was to forget to take time for God's Garden and relax in the presence. Lingering in the stillness of His creation. The quiet moments. Too many have never had quiet moments, but are tormented by anger and don't believe there's room at the table.
My HOME is my favorite place to live and breathe. I will be content.

Our Irises are on the verge of blooming. Truly, I love their colorful blossoms shaped for the day. Their fragrance varies. Since we've lived here, the heirloom ones were a complete surprise at how similar they smelled like grape jelly. Sweet jelly.
They have been the best smelling ones of all times. I look forward to each SPRING. I love LILACS, but our heirloom Irises are so very wonderful. A back to nature movement is needed in my soul with taking time to relish this moment where quiet is. Embellishment. I quit the rat race.
Flower stems shoot upwards through the lush greenery in our front flowerbed. Waiting for the arrival of additional color to unfold to admire and take a bow.
The Irises bring with them Hope. An opportunity to admire another one of our Creator's beauties for a busy world which calls out slow down and be.
Pause.
Nature moves indoors with the two over-sized framed pictures we purchased this past week-end. Birds of course. I had a Art History Lesson as I read about the Victorian Artist Henry Stacy Marks that painted the originals years ago for Eaton Hall in Cheshire England. Never hearing about him, this was another pleasant find. I had no idea he ever lived to paint images of birds, but he did.
We've decided to display them in the Family room. Their size dictates where they can be hung. Few choices in our palace. Pictures to follow.
