I AM NOT IN COMPETITION WITH ANYONE. I'm not climbing the Corporate ladder. Not trying to get anyone's attention. Not trying to gain another client by asking them out to lunch giving them a sells pitch instead of really taking an interest in them as a friend. Not working at being a top seller of anything. Not the Homecoming Queen or winning popular votes. My friends have dwindled, my health is not the best, finances stretched and stressed. Downsizing in so many ways.
I am fortunate to still have family, my Husband, children and grandchildren. Blessed to have a roof over my head, medical insurance, a car to drive, utilities and groceries in the pantry/fridge. Time to think. Time to pray.
With knowing that life can be very challenging at times, sometimes I am just not up to it. I need help, so I turn to the Lord. My constant companion is the HOLY TRINITY. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
I visit often with them. I am not alone. Ever.
Not remembering the name of the movie, one of the scenes still comes to mind. This one has stuck with me for years. An elderly woman was talking to the Police about having tea with Jesus when a crime took place outside her home. She's sharing what happened. They look at her like she was a nut. Uh huh lady, Jesus was here visiting. Not saying she's the Queen of England or another celebrity, she says she was having tea with Jesus. They pay very little attention to her, but would return later in the movie to talk to her again. After listening to her you finally get a better understanding where she's coming from. She sits at her kitchen table sipping a hot beverage while talking to the LORD. Therefore, she is having tea with Jesus.
I don't always have a hot beverage near by while sitting at the table when I talk to Jesus. Sometimes I have nothing to drink. AND HE WALKS WITH ME AND HE TALKS WITH ME and He tells me I am His own. The conversation flows freely.
Everywhere I go, He goes with me. Praying takes place. This is a comfort to me. No appointment needed.
No praying at school? Who says? The government? The School Board? Silent prayer cannot be controlled. You can't stop me. If I pray out loud under my breath or to where others hear me, I will. I can while I shop, drive the car, walk about. I have the freedom to do so. If I talk to God while I'm at the Library, or paying bills or walk the sidewalks...dare say who will tell me that I'm not to do that?
I look forward to the time when I can sit at the COTTAGE in the quiet and talk to Jesus. There are moments I get excited thinking about living in the tiny COTTAGE with my Husband of 49 years and times I say I'm going to miss our larger house. I know it is for the best to turn loose of her at this time of life. Still, I am human and sentimental about where we've been. I have to shake this off and get on with LIFE. It's best to not procrastinate. Forge ahead. Yes, we need to think things through, but dragging my feet isn't healthy or progressive. Sitting on the fence isn't the way to live.
I will be going over to the COTTAGE this morning to take another load of goodies then I'll go over to my daughter's place and I will have the privilege of baby sitting my little grandson. I hope I can keep up. He's a live wire.
Another one of my classmates passed away unexpectedly after having shoulder surgery on a Monday at 68 years of age. He was a medical doctor. My High School classmates are dying left and right. 68 isn't that young, but it's not that old either. I mustn't take life for granted. Death will come and is a reality for all of us. I pray I live a life that is pleasing to GOD. Jesus is my personal savior and I know why He is. I know who He is.
