MORNING AT THE COTTAGE

TIS VERY QUIET THIS MORNING AT THE COTTAGE as I woke early to start the day doing household chores.  Hubby is still asleep.  I welcome the quiet sometimes as it allows me time to think and pray without interruption.

As the early morning sunlight streams through the window, I am enjoying the quiet.  The heater is running with a soft humming sound to warm the room on this wintery morning where the outside temps are 15 degrees.  Today, it's suppose to warm up to 40.  If this happens, I'm going to go for a long drive and praise the LORD for this heat wave.

AS FOR THE HOUSEHOLD CHORES.  The washing machine will be started soon as I continue working the laundry pile down.  This seems to be taking so much time that I want to blink and have it all done.

After the Christmas boxes are removed from the Living room to go to the cellar later in the day, I shall vacuum the room.  With the weather a tad bit warmer, the Victorian dresser will be removed from the house and placed in the SHE SHED.  I hope this happens soon as the COTTAGE is starting to fill once again with things that are out of place.

Yesterday as we sat in the lobby waiting for Hubby's medical appointment one of the women sitting there looked so familiar.  I asked her if her name was Karen and it was.  She use to run a small gift shop in the area which I shopped.  She remembered me and that 10 years ago I bought a silver plated Coffee/Tea Service from her.  She remembered where I lived and that I have a daughter. Good memory.  I wish we could have visited longer, but she was called and away she went. Perhaps I'll get to visit with her again sometime.  I remember that she loved OPERA. 🎵🎶

This service set is in serious need of being polished as the exposure to air has caused a patina.  I just sat it out about three days ago.  The COTTAGE is beginning to look like a TEA LADY lives here.  My metal sets are displayed in the Dining room and the porcelain teapots are above the Kitchen cabinets.  Aren't we suppose to display our collections?  I think so.

Until next time,
GOD BLESS.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.”

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
