Hello from Home Haven. This is the third Christmas we've celebrated in our 1885 old stone house. As always I have to decide which tree to set up and where the tree will go. This year in the Parlour, we're going with a white flocked, pre-lit tree in the bump out.
The small conservatory is located on the front of the house. With bulbs and ballerinas I have really down sized on the number of items that decorate a tree for Christmas. My theme changes every year! Behind this table is the conservatory door where the so called bump out is located.
Our old house is in need of some tender loving care. After some major remodeling gets completed, we hope to add insulation to the bump out and repanel it. Paint it and refinish the wood floor. One of the likeable features that we admire are the deep doorways.
My hubby hauled the tree from the garage. We've had everything from natural trees to artificial, slender to huge, hinged branches to individual assembling of branches with a variety of different lights. My favorite artificial tree is prelit, hinged and set up by my husband! If I could have it my way, I'd decorate a tree on wheels and each year wheel the covered tree out from a closet where it has rested thru the year just waiting for December to come and shine bright. Then when the season were over, cover the tree and wheel it back to the closet. Ahhh...the breeze of it all.
The pre-lit tree is put in a rotating tree stand. Tomorrow's a new day and the bulbs will come out.
Christmas Trees usually put a smile on my face. I luv seeing the tree shine with lights!
