She's such a pretty cat and has warmed up to us in the last few months. She was horribly skittish at first, but with food she has become friendly allowing us to pet her. Hubby sits on the back porch talking to her while petting her and now she allows him to hold her. She's still skittish, but has relaxed some.
She now sleeps on our back porch and sometimes in the periwinkle by the large tree in the back yard. I think she's pregnant. Shall see. Hubby would like to take her with us when we move. Not sure how he can pull this off.
I shared that I think he should open the car door and allow her to sit in his lap without the car running. As her trust grows, close the door and just sit there loving on her. We have a small pet taxi that I think we could use to transport her when we move after we train her to eat inside of it.
After we get to the COTTAGE, he said she could become his studio cat where she stays inside the garage. I'm allergic to cats so she cannot stay in the house. We shall see how this goes. We call her CALLIE since she's a calico.
Hubby has a soft spot in his heart for her. Meow.
Tonight I think we'll watch a movie with supper to relax and regain some strength. Both my husband and I are very tired. He ran some errands and worked on the basement stairwell. I felt like I was about half dead today. Legs feel heavy. I took a nap then loaded the car full of things like plants, plant holder, clothes, large dishes, crock pot, Dutch Oven. Once I unloaded these things, I had to make space in the kitchen for the cookware.
The path through the COTTAGE is narrow and I move slow twisting and turning as I carry items from one room to another. I put some things away and sat some. Watered the house plants and the porch plants. The outdoor Geraniums seem to love their new location sheltered on the porch. Pink and red Geraniums are so pretty. The Mums have been slow to bloom.
The front flowerbed needs more work on it, but will be put off until we are out of the Main House. Our energies are basically going into emptying the house and last minute house projects. I move really slow and that's just the way it is.
REPAIRS ON OUR LITTLE PT CRUISER. New headlights for the Cruiser were delivered to the front door today. We have an appointment on Friday to have the Auto Repair Employee repair the car body damage. After this is done, the new headlights will be installed. I didn't see any deer today on the highway as I drove to the COTTAGE. What a relief.
LIFE has been simplified when we order things like car headlights through the computer. In less than two days, the order arrived safe and sound. The Auto Repairman said he was having a horrible time getting parts for PT CRUISERS, but my Husband knew where to look.
Another load of belongings will be carried from the basement to the Kitchen and out to the car. I'll drop the load off at the storage unit on my way to my medical appointment. BONE DENSITY TEST is scheduled. It shouldn't take very long then I can return HOME to load the car again, rest then take it to the COTTAGE. Unload and do some laundry and put some things away.
OFF TO THE MAIN HOUSE. I'm getting into a rhythm. The oven needs cleaned and things from the Kitchen cabinets cleared out. I am so ready to be done with this packing. Of all the moves I have experienced in my lifetime, this one is the hardest one due to my age with health issues, the amount of belongings to deal with and the length of time it has taken to move our belongings from here to there day after day. I have to say, this is extremely good exercise for me though. Instead of sitting so much doing little, I am in motion standing, bending, stretching, lifting, carrying weight, shuffling, etc.
If you are going to be PROACTIVE about something such as moving and downsizing then it will require actually doing something about it and we are. We decided to do this move ourselves over a year's time and fix the COTTAGE up as well. I have done my share of thinking about downsizing and getting out of debt. I have done my fair share of complaining about it. Now, I must actually be physically involved making this come to pass. Same with getting healthier. I must actually eat healthy and exercise.
Just thinking about wanting to be healthier is a start then I have to actually do something about it in the real world. Breaking old HABITS can be done. ADDING NEW HEALTHIER HABITS is the key to success.
