BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY WITH THE WEATHER BEING IN THE 50s!!!
Oh happy day. Not bitter cold. We are suppose to have a few days where it is like this. My spirits lifted. The large Christmas tree is down, the greenery around the front doors is gone and the large metal basket I bought for $4 from the thrift store has been sprayed painted black. Thinking about placing it beside the Fisher Cast Iron Fireplace Insert filled with wood branches.
THE HUGE CHRISTMAS TREE IS DOWN BEFORE JANUARY 31st/FEBRUARY 1st. Gone. Tucked away for another day. Perhaps she'll come out next NOVEMBER in the COTTAGE. I'll have room in front of the Dining room windows over there instead of here. The beginning of a different journey as I decide how I want to change my decorating style to a more NATURAL LOOK. Cleaner and not cluttered. Easier to clean and easier on the eye which contributes to being less stressful.
As of late, I have been watching videos to catch a glimmer of how so many minimalist decorate. I really see a trend these days with the younger women wanting less clutter. More pottery, wood objects, galvanized items, natural fibers, knitted items, glass, faux or real plants/twigs and farmhouse accessories. I wonder if women are hungry for a simpler way of living? So much noise out there in the world. A more relaxed atmosphere in the HOME and less to clean.
I'm more inclined to relax right along with them with a different decorating theme. I want a change in decorating as I am getting older. A pleasant change. Our culture's interior design has morphed into many different themes. The word is out that it's alright to go simple. Not complicated. A challenge with me is to have less. Let go and be changed. Less is more is what I hear.
I had no trouble cleaning the wooden floor where the tree was for the Holidays. The shutters were quickly dusted in under 5 minutes. Upholstered wing chairs were scooted back into their old place. Deciding to not return the Dumb Waiter table between the chairs for now. Not sure where I will go with the table just yet. It's a mystery.

SATURDAY is here. A quiet pace has fallen upon me. The main thing I am working on today, is getting the piles of paperwork off the floor that I have placed about my recliner. Into a box they are going. I have gone through papers until I am blue in the face. I plan to haul these boxes to the COTTAGE to sort through as HUBBY works on the COTTAGE Bathroom.
I will be just fine and comfortable doing the paperwork at the COTTAGE then when HUBBY needs an extra hand I can stop what I am doing and help him out. That is my goal for next week. TODAY, I am prepping for the transition.
I had hoped to get to the place where I feel comfortable painting primer on the Dining room walls. I have to have the area around my recliner looking better before I can switch gears and paint. I'll vacuum the area rugs after the paper mess is cleared out.
The Christmas garland has disappeared about the front doors. Our HOME is slowly returning back to pre-Christmas. I have still to put away the NATIVITY PLATE and greenery that's on the Entryway buffet. I'm in no hurry to put this away as I enjoy looking at it to remind me that the Lord Jesus did enter our world as a baby born in a manger wrapped in swaddling. Mary is so pretty as she gazes at her infant son.
The other Christmas tree that is at the other end of the Living room will stay up another week. I love looking at the twinkling lights on this tree without any ornaments. The WINTER WONDERLAND out in the screened-in porch won't vanish until March 1st. Deliberately we are leaving the wonderland up to winter with us. Then we will decide which of the eleven artificial trees we'll keep and which to part with.
The two urns I have on the front porch didn't have any Christmas decor in them this past Christmas. We just had greenery, twinkle lights and ribbon about the doors. I came across a picture of urns that were topped with grapevine wreaths then pumpkins sat on top. Loved it and wished I had done this for AUTUMN. Next year I hope to remember and will copy this for the porch. The COTTAGE has a covered porch on it that will be rebuilt when we get further down the road. We're planning on having an ornate little porch which will have room for a couple of urns on it.
I have one urn over there now that is empty. I will fill it with potting soil and put the Coleus clippings I have that are ready to be potted. I'll place the urn inside in the COTTAGE to winter and come Spring when the weather is warming up, I'll place the urn on the porch filled with Coleus.
I've gone through a few old magazines before throwing them away. I tore some pages out for now to keep some recipes I'll try. Mom had given me an old REE DRUMMOND magazine and I took time to thumb through it. She is a wonderful cook for sure. I'll try her green bean recipe where she adds diced red peppers, onions and garlic to green beans. The last batch of organic green beans we had were steamed and so delicious. Adding the other ingredients would make the dish even more nutritional. The more the merrier.
I am very HaPPy about being on day 6 of the JACKIE KENNEDY/JACKIE O DIET. Today has gone very well and tomorrow will be the same I hope.Easy to eat 2 hard boiled eggs and drink hot tea for Breakfast. I was actually looking forward to the Cottage Cheese and fruit for Lunch. Supper will be a large salad. Snack was...shhhhh. 2 pieces of dark chocolate sugar-free Hershey's bar. It helped get me through the afternoon.
While I was going through the paper work I came across some print outs of food that I had ate over the past year while I was counting calories. I now know that even then I had to seriously cut the calories a few days a week to lose some weight. One of my lowest calorie days was when I skipped Breakfast, ate 5 Bean Salad for Lunch and Organic Soup for Supper. Snack was popcorn.
I believe that I can do this again when needing a very low calorie day.
I stepped on the scales today and was surprised that I lost another pound. My goal is to be quite a bit lighter at my April Physical than I was in April 2021. I am hopeful I can do this. I'd like to reach my goal weight by next Christmas.
Keeping it simple with the meals I am eating. Decluttering my HOME. Making plans for remodeling the COTTAGE and spruce up our main house.
If I have less to take care of and surround myself with a different decorating style then I will be a happier person because I will have freed myself up to being ME. She's in there some where and I am working at getting her set free to be a better person.
I believe it is God's better plan for me. Jeremiah 29:11.
Blessings to you and may you have a sweet LIFE,

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL
PROVERBS 24
1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;
20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
26 Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
PEACE TO YOU AS YOU LIVE LIFE,
