ISN'T STRENGTH TRAINING SOMETHING YOU NEED TO DO AS YOU GROW OLDER???Tis good for the body, soul and building character, huh. Relocating large pieces of furniture and moving heavy boxes comes into play.
We managed to get the base and the mirror of the Victorian Gentlemen's Dresser over to the COTTAGE.
The cracked piece of wood in the dresser was glued and clamped. Later after it has time to set, I'll place the drawers in the framework.
We'll see about breaking down the bed to this suite and getting it over to the COTTAGE soon. Both Bedrooms need their beds. Perhaps this week-end we will get the beds broke down and ready to haul over.

THE REALITY of this move comes with messes everywhere. HOME SWEET HOME is messy right now.
Brought over two large boxes each holding wedding dresses from the past over to the COTTAGE closet.
Placed the boxes on a high top shelf and marveled that the boxes fit. Whew. SO glad.
Two more items removed from point A to point B.
Hubby hung a barn light on
the shed and planted some Day Lilies with Lily of the Valley plants in clumps in the side yard. I rearranged some things on the Kitchen countertops. Did a load of t-shirts and a load of bluejeans. Pulled some weeds in the front flowerbed. Trash taken out. Progress.
Took some time to stand outside on the porch for a bit just to listen to the birds singing. No human was heard. So quiet. The birds didn't seem to mind as they continued chirping while I stood in awe of their musical abilities. Pleasant to my ears and peace to my soul.
BACK AT THE MAIN HOUSE, I had the Victorian bed upstairs covered with clothing and tablecloths which need dealt with. It makes me question why I have so much of this and that that I have kept through the years. PAUSE. As I look at the mess, energy seems to drain from me and I have to remind myself that my attitude needs adjusted. Working at slowly clearing off the bed. Keep moving.
I managed to carry these items down to the Kitchen to hang on the rack. Hopefully tomorrow I will haul them over. Carrying them to the car takes muscle power and then carrying them inside makes my arms cry. MORE STRENGTH TRAINING in the works.
When I came downstairs and sat in my chair, I told my Husband that there is so much to do when moving. We're making progress, but it seems to be taking so much longer than I ever imagined. Time is getting away from me. The week has disappeared.
THE GENTLEMEN'S DRESSER has been assembled. The darling is in place. PTL. Drawers in and mirror attached sitting in the pink room. With that behind us we moved forward by hauling the VICTORIAN DESK over in two trips. First the crown off the top was carefully removed from this piece then the glass doors taken off with the fold down desk front removed. HUBBY wasn't sure this huge piece would fit in our little Cruiser, but she did and I couldn't be happier.
We huffed and puffed managing to get the bottom part of the desk inside. Tad bit HEAVY. Between the two of us OLD PEEPS we did it. Returned to the Main House to load up the top part of this mammoth desk. Same routine. Put her together and admired. I was HaPPy to FINALLY get this tall piece positioned in the Dining room. Waited months for this moment. Tadaah. She is there. I LOVE IT! Now to put some dolls inside like I had over at the main house.
As I look around our COTTAGE she is filling up with our belongings and I get a sense of satisfaction that we are doing this thang. The COTTAGE is small, but she has a comfortable feel to her and I cannot hardly wait until we are completely moved in messes and all. The strength training is paying off. I'll do my best to continue staying active in body, mind and spirit. PTL.
TODAY, the cedar chest will be brought down to the Living room, loaded in the car and taken to the COTTAGE across the river. We'll unload her with care and carry her inside to sit in the front bedroom. After I am over to the COTTAGE, I will work on laundry and begin taking my dolls out of the curio cabinets. Sometime soon the curio cabinets will be hauled back to the main house so we can auction them off.
It is a work out for me to be doing all this moving of large pieces of furniture and heavy boxes plus shuffling this and shuffling that so we morph into shape. Handling each item large and small does make me respect what we have accumulated over the years. A reminder that we are BLESSED HOMEBODIES. Downsizing releases a new leaf on life.
HOME LIFE is for me,
