SCRIPTURE TO SPEAK OVER THE ROOMS IN YOUR HOME

AFTER SEEING THIS REEL,
I thought it would be good
to freeze frame and capture the scripture they suggested
for reading and speaking over the rooms.

I will be doing this exercise.
God bless,

O LORD...

WHEN I WORK AT MEMORIZING SCRIPTURE, I find short ones as my 70 year old mind is challenged these days.  This one is a great one for me.  O Lord my God...

THRIFTY MOMMA INSIDE MY SOUL!!!

THE DAY WAS LONG, but productive and fun.  THRIFTY MOMENTS for entertainment and it went well.  Story begins here.

Drove over to a different community to pick up our medication from the Pharmacy.  Out of pocket expense for natural ARMOUR THYROID nearly hit $100 for one month supply for just me.  Hubby takes the same meds, but for the time being he gets a little discount on his.  That comes to about $3.28 a day for me.  I believe I will need to shop around to see if I can get a better price on this.

When I peeked at the price, I was taken a back.  I should have known better.  It seems to continue rising in price.

Onto Manhattan buzzing through the Star Bucks Drive through for tea and a Protein Box to split so we'd have an egg in us to tide us over until we could eat lunch, but they were sold out.  Walnut bread instead.

We dragged Main Street and toured some neighborhoods before my chiropractic appointment.

I think I probably have one more future treatment and then I shall see how I manage.  I learned that the way my posture was that my left leg was shorter than the right.  I knew I had a rotated hip.  I am feeling so much better though and am thankful that my right hip is doing better.

Appointment went well. Afterwards HUBBY wanted Mexican food for lunch so I went along with this and had a tamale with beans and rice.  Water to drink.  Since it was Tuesday we included TOPEKA to do some shopping.  Off we went across the beautiful FLINT HILLS to Topeka.

HERE COMES THE THRIFTING HIGH.  GOD's STOREHOUSE was on the agenda.  What did I find to purchase?

👕 A couple of SPRING/SUMMER shirts for Hubby.
🥘 A beautiful $9.60 white pottery casserole dish with lid and a small dish to match.  A veggie steamer.  Looked up the signature on the bottom. Coburn.  Researched it.  Steven Coburn from Salina, Ks.  When putting it on a top shelf in the PANTRY, there was a smaller piece of pottery by him as well.  Pretty neat to see that I have two of his pieces.

🛏 A very affordable 100% cotton Queen size quilt for extra bedding at $18.40.   We folded it and placed it on top of another quilt of mine.
It's the one directly under the goose.  The subtle colors warm my heart and add to my collection. She has a few stains on top and the underside, but it's nothing I can't LIVE with.  A real treat for the THRIFTY momma in me.

👖 Blue jean peddle pushers for hot weather for me.
🌿 Some old Herb magazines priced at 50 cents each.
✎ Art manuals.
I think that was just about it.  I was in my HAPPY place while shopping as I actually found some things to bring HoME with me.  This place feeds my soul somehow.

I am a HaPPY camper as a THRIFTER.

TARGET was next in line for a nice Mother's Day greeting card for my Mom, Iron tablets, zip lock bags, Mrs. Meyer's dish detergent, hand soap and surface cleaner all Lilac scented.  They didn't have maple syrup in a glass bottle nor did they have sugar-free ketch-up.  Off to NATURAL GROCERS for sugar-free ketch-up in glass bottle and Maple Syrup in glass container.

To SAMs for throwaway coffee cups and grass-fed beef.  Fueled the car noticing the higher priced gasoline.  Auto fuel will continue to rise which reminds me we are making America great again.

By this time I was tired and very ready to go HoME.  Our drive takes close to 30 minutes to make.

The last few days, I have been run down and it is affecting me in a negative way.  Naps, naps, naps.  I decided that I need to return to getting some Vitamin B12 shots.  Messaged my doctor asking if I could continue doing this.  I think I was feeling so much better last year when I took these.  So I need to return to receiving these.  It seems like I get to feeling better and then I don't stay with what is helping me.  I slowly fade back into not feeling the best.  Not good.

I rested and planned for tomorrow.  I truly want to try to walk some.  Not a mile, but perhaps 1/4 to a 1/2 mile for starters.  This hip episode has been upsetting to me and slowed me down.  A challenging seasons to say the least.

This scripture comforts my soul when dealing with false religions and con artist that are spiritual advisers such as Paula W-C who bows to Mother Moon who calls herself the only begotten daughter of god.  Who is the President of the United States of America's spiritual adviser?  A little blonde headed woman from Tupelo, Mississippi who isn't shy about asking people to place their jewelry in the offering plate instead of cash.  humpf.  Oh my.

In a nutshell, I went from going to church in my mother's womb to being sprinkled as a child in the Methodist Church.  I grew up wanting to be a good example of how a child could follow instructions and be a little light in a dark world.  I grew to maturity hungry for Bible teaching and wanting to date the Baptist boys in Liberal, Kansas.  When I married I was not attending any church before children.  Later, I took my little children to a First Christian Church then back to a Methodist Church.

As time passed, I began shopping for a HoME Church elsewhere.  Spiritual events took place and I tried my best to stay out of a christian cult just to get into one with the word of faith movement.  God was good and pulled me out of the fire.  Detoxing took time with study and prayer.

Recovery time took years, but I am now on the other side of where I was.  I am now resting in the truth of the Holy Bible.  Father, Son and Holy Spirit are mine.  Salvation through the Son.  With this, I have free audience with Almighty God.  No appointment needed to be in HIS presence.  No works required to visit with HIM.  What a great privilege.  To God be the glory.  Great things HE hath done.  I am adopted into the family of GOD as a daughter to the most high one.  Amazing.  A daughter!

Amen,
~d

IN TIMES OF TROUBLE

OKAY.  HERE I GO.  I just got back from celebrating my Mom's 94th birthday last Thursday.  We stayed a couple of days with my mom and traveled HoME on Sunday.  Rained all the way HoME.

RESTED on Monday and on Tuesday I'm getting ready to go to a Chiropractor to see if he can adjust my back and leg to ease the terrible pain I have been plagued with since the middle of February.

LORD, I pray that this will help me and improve my stride where I can walk again.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.  Just that simple to ask for help when in a tough place.  What does the WORD say about HIM being a help in times of trouble?

the lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my god, my rock in whom i take refuge
Psalm 46:1 declares, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble," emphasizing His constant presence and support during life’s challenges.

MID WEEK HARMONY IN FEBRUARY

THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE.  I will rejoice and be glad in it. Making a personal decision to look for the blessings in life and praise God from whom all blessings flow.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

You know, sometimes life doesn't seem to be going very well and I do not believe we should ignore the issues causing problems, but we have to be a cheerleader at times and look for scripture that helps us put things in perspective and keep our chins up knowing that the problems shall pass.  Paraphrasing.  What was meant for evil will be turned into good to those who love the LORD and are called according to HIS purpose.

My lab results were in my health portal.  Welp as I suspected, I am low in iron, vitamin B12 and vitamin D.  Waiting to hear what my HUBBY's levels are.  He's asleep right now so I am waiting for him to read his results.

The way I am presently feeling indicated that I needed to have some labs done and I'm not surprised that I am LOW on all of these.  I won't be surprised if HUBBY is as well.  We both have NO THYROID due to cancer.  It is a new thing for me to know that because we have no thyroid that the body does not absorb nutrients as it needs to.

I did not learn this from my ENDOCRINOLOGIST CONNECTIONS.  I now know that we should keep a close eye on our levels which means I have to have labs done more frequent than once a year.  This is a JOKE to me.  Once a year isn't enough.  As I find out which labs to have ran, I will continue to study up on health issues.

Also aging, certain meds, stress, poor diet are causes for the body to not absorb nutrients.

I had stopped getting vitamin B12 shots last July.  I'll be starting back up on these.  Vitamin D supplements and iron supplements as well.  Back to taking daily vitamins and minerals.  Daily Apple Cider Vinegar, Co-Q10 and Ceylon Cinnamon.  Selenium, Zinc, Potassium, Magnesium.

Issues that come from having a poor diet are magnified by eating foods that have been grown in poor soil.  Also the quality of the food plays a huge part in poor nutrition.  No fake meats or eating insects for me.

RED MEAT from cattle that are grass feed is a good source for building up one's blood.
Drinking some orange juice when taking iron supplements compliments the iron supplement.  I'll be going to get some orange juice today and sip some each day.  I did purchase some prune juice to assist with constipation.  Yummers.  Think I'll sip on it for an afternoon snack.  Who would have ever thunk it that I'd be having an afternoon JUICE BREAK of prune juice?  Not I.

I mustn't ignore that I am very human and can develop health issues because of poor nutrition, poor habits and poor decisions.  I am not a Super Hero and I know that I am not suppose to ignore healthy living.  Keeping a balance of what is good for me involves nutrition, less stress, exercise, prayer, trusting in GOD, and clean living.  Watching television programs and watching TOXIC movies and being around poor influences is a bad formula for a healthy LIFESTYLE.

It's not just about taking supplements.
We need to be concerned about absorption
AND CONVERSION.

VITAMIN D info...

Spoiler ALERT:  Vitamin D is actually a HORMONE
and not a vitamin at all.

To optimize vitamin D absorption and conversion,
take supplements with the largest meal of the day containing healthy fats (e.g., avocado, nuts, eggs, olive oil). Ensure the supplement is Vitamin D3, as it is more effective than D2. Regular, brief sun exposure and adequate magnesium intake also significantly boost conversion into the active form.
Key Strategies for Maximum Vitamin D Conversion:
  • Pair with Fat (Crucial): Vitamin D is fat-soluble, meaning it requires fat to be absorbed into the bloodstream. Always take supplements with meals containing healthy fats, such as olive oil, nuts, or fatty fish.
  • Take Vitamin D3: Choose supplements containing D3 (cholecalciferol) over D2, as it is more bioavailable and better at raising overall levels.
  • Boost Magnesium Intake: Magnesium helps convert vitamin D into its active form. Ensure you are getting enough through diet or supplements.
  • Optimize Sun Exposure: Get 5–30 minutes of sun exposure on large areas of skin (arms, legs) several times a week, ideally around midday.
  • Improve Gut Health: A healthy digestive system is crucial for nutrient absorption.
  • Take with a Meal: It does not matter if it is morning or night, but taking it with food improves absorption.
  • Maintain Healthy Weight: Body fat can sequester vitamin D, so maintaining a healthy weight helps improve its bioavailability.

Foods that Enhance Absorption:
Combine supplements with foods rich in healthy fats, such as salmon, tuna, mackerel, egg yolks, avocado, or nuts.

1) VITAMIN D3 should be taken with K2 and fatty food.
2) Optimize midday sun exposure to large parts of the body without sunscreen for at least 5 minutes each day.  30 would be better.

I here by will be wiser about choices
and call upon the LORD for help and direction.

God BLESS you,
~d

THERAPY FOR THE SOUL and OLD FASHION TOMATO SANDWICHES

ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON, I watched YOUTUBE and listened to instrumental CHRISTMAS music.  So very relaxing.  LOVED IT. Therapy for the SOUL. 🎵🎶

I needed to go to TARGET for some supplies and I went by myself as HUBBY worked on the front porch.  I genuinely enjoyed getting some free time at TARGET.  The drive was relaxing, the shopping was relaxing, free time was relaxing.  Arrived HOME before dark.

As I walked at the track, I mumbled that this is my favorite place to walk.  I am above and beyond glad I have this outlet.  The scenery is soothing to me. AGAIN, this is therapy for my soul.

After walking, I look the part.  ▶

Here it is MONDAY.  I weigh myself on Monday mornings for the week.  I'm not gaining weight, but I am not HAPPY about being stuck on this number. For the last year I have been stuck.

Seriously, I will have to return to another round of the Daniel Diet.  Not looking forward to this, but I can't seem to lose weight otherwise.  When I took Mounjaro, it damaged my gut.  I hurt to this day.

🥣 I haven't had cereal in about 4 years.  Especially CHEERIOS.  gosh. Breakfast was a bowl of CHEERIOS with milk, half a banana and a handful of raisins.  Should keep me full for awhile.  Lunch will be at noonish.  Something simple, but filling.  Think I'll toast some bread and make some old fashioned TOMATO SANDWICHES.  Toast, mayo, salt 'n pepper and sliced tomatoes.  Easy peasy.  Sounds good to me.  I have never made these.  I'll make a small side salad of romaine lettuce, a chopped up green apple, some celery and olives.  Water for the beverage.  I wonder what my Husband will think about these sandwiches.

THINKING WE NEED MORE FUN IN OUR LIVES.  Play some games.

FIRST TIME WE PLAYED A GAME OF CHECKERS IN THE MORNING BEFORE ALL KINDS OF CHORES BEGiN.  Amongst my decluttering and organizing, I came across a baggy with a CHECKERS game in it. Told my 🩷sweetheart that I wanted to play a game before we started our day.  He agreed.  Nice.

We played a single game of CHECKERS and I WON!!!  Best game I have played.  Bragging some.  grins.  Maybe I should NEVER play another game.  Quit while I'm the CHAMP.  Laughing out loud.  Twas really fun for me this time to win.  We played this game in about 27 minutes and the time flew.  Therapy for my soul.

Who created the game of CHECKERS?  Got any idea?  I have played this game since I was a young child and never questioned who created it.  It is debated where CHECKERS comes from.  I'm alright with not knowing.  I like the game.  Think we will play more of it in the near future.  Cheap entertainment.  Affordable.

TODAY, he plans on painting on the porch and I plan on going walking then continue the COTTAGE CLEAN-UP.

I'm moving slower than a turtle.  That has to be alright.  That has to be the way it is because it is the way it is.  Mental BLESSINGS are to be spoken outwards as I must be my own CHEERLEADER.

OUR 4 year old GRANDSON put together one of his birthday gifts from us.

I'm impressed and I think he liked how his LEGO vehicle turned out.

What a treasure he is to us.

PORCH FOUNDATION, MARY JANE'S and CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICHES

A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR A SUNDAY.

With the wind slightly blowing, it's about 62 degrees outside.  Off on a walk I shall go. Afterwards, I'll cool off and cleanup.  I won't have to fix LUNCH today as my Husband and Son will get a steak and I'll stay HOME for some quiet time.  Our Son has been helping us by rebuilding the Cottage's stone foundation under the front porch.

Hubby told him that when this was finished they'd get a steak.  No complaints.  The rest of the rebuild of the porch might start this week.  That would be amazing.  They have worked incredibly hard on this project.  Hubby was under the front part of the house yesterday crawling around working on foundational stuff.  This in itself is hard work for a 70 year old guy.

Having our Son HOME to help with this project is a GOD SEND.  SO very THANKFUL.

I had to go shopping yesterday to get a POT ROAST for Monday and a few other goodies.  I stopped off at the THRIFT STORE in Wamego looking for discounted bluejeans and walked out with a $5 pair of black MARY JANE shoes for myself.  When purchased new the Mary Jane's go for between $69 to $130.  These are really cute, look brand new and very comfortable that I will wear on dressier days.  No jeans for me.  I purchased a canvas shopping bag, the shoes and a 2.5 pound hand weight.  Enjoying THRIFT SHOPPES.

Filled the car with fuel.   Dropped the mail off.  Ran the car through the car wash.  Stopped off at the Hardware store to look for leather work gloves.  Drove over to Manhattan's Menards for gloves.  Stopped by Walmarts for a Pot Roast, Arizona Tea, an onion, potatoes, bluejeans. Buzzed into the Dollar General.  Drove HOME.  Unloaded the spoils and rested before fixing Chicken Salad Sandwiches for Supper.  Had chips and salsa.  Figured the salsa was a good vegetable to have.

The Chicken Salad turned out super good.  Proud of myself.  I started off with a bowl to add salt, pepper and about 1/4th cup of sugar in.  Added 2 cans of drained chicken to the spices which I blended well the ingredients together making sure the chicken was well shredded.  About 1/2 a cup of mayo was added and mixed in well.  Then a handful of sliced red seedless grapes and slivered almonds were added.  Spread some of the mixture on sour dough bread and called it good.  Yummers.  No complaints for a sandwich.  I didn't have any celery to add.  I usually add slices of celery and water cress for crunch, but hey I didn't miss it. 🥪

Watched late night MISSION IMPOSSIBLE and went to bed.  Way busier than I like.  Lots of background music and so many gunshots.  Action packed.

PLANS FOR THE WEEK.  A broken record repeats.  I'll work on the front bedroom and exercise. Tadahhh.  May all go well.  I've been at it again doing mental gymnastics thinking about how to go about making sense on the shuffling in the front bedroom.  I pray to be successful and hope I never have to do this much shuffling again.  Evah.

AS FOR SPIRITUAL SUNDAY.

FOOD.  Getting ready to prepare the Pot Roast to soak in coffee overnight.  I won't be adding garlic cloves.  An old Heloise TRICK for making pot roast taste better.  The overnight soak adds extra flavor to cheaper cuts of meat.  After looking at the prices of meat at the store, I am convinced that prices have sky rocketed.  Kind of scary.  I think I had better shop around to see if I can get a side of beef from a local farmer that grass feeds their cattle.  There will be a waiting list so I best get on it.

Overall a very good day for me.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

Ye must be born again.”

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
