PERHAPS IT'S MY AGE. Perhaps it's what I have gone through this past year living in a time of a pandemic rethinking how I should be living while I am alive. Perhaps it's coming from watching too many tiny house videos. Perhaps it's from being healed from being too materialistic. Perhaps it's from not being in the best of health and wanting to simplify. Perhaps it's a change of attitude. Perhaps it's that I am just too tired to do what I am doing that I am having thoughts of turning loose of more furniture in the house and rearranging rooms again. Perhaps it's the cold weather bug biting me that is causing this idea to swell up in me. Maybe it's prairie fever driving me to change things around to make a difference with the flow of a room.
What am I saying? I have been giving it a great deal of thought toward turning loose of certain pieces of furniture to open a room up so there is more empty space.
I have said to my husband, you may think I have lost my mind, but what if we did yada yada yada? Move that piece there and that piece there and that piece there? Switch these two rooms and place that piece there and that piece there and that piece there and that means I have to do something with that piece and something with that piece. Where would I go with that piece and that piece?
With this pandemic taking place and being inside so much, I know I am thinking more in the lines of simplifying. Making certain rooms seem more spacious because there isn't so much furniture in there anymore. It's doable, but is it necessary? Is it really what I want?
I never imagined as a young woman that one day I would be saying I have too much furniture in my house. Turning loose is possible, but is it practical? I think it is. I have spent hours going over this scenario in my head. Once the stuff is gone, it's gone. I have to live with that and be alright with it.
It seems like a thousand times I have played out the rearranging in my head. I believe I have the courage to move forward. 2021 will be the year. Lord willing.
Making HOME a place of comfort with peace
takes some doing,
