Had Lunch with the Ladies. More than JUST FOOD ALL THE TIME. Every once in a while we get together to get caught up on what we have been doing. One got a face lift. One has had a busy Summer taking care of 6 Grandchildren. One is trying to get back into her own house as she has been away and family has moved in. I'm resting up from company and figuring out how to live in our torn up house. Kitchen is about half finished. Nice meal with fast paced conversation. One Community Lady that I found out last time we met was a wiccan....
she died. FULL OF CANCER. I was saddened to hear this. Where is her spirit today? She had written her own obituary that started out, I died today. She shares about her life, her marriages, her family, places she visited and her bucket list. No mention of where she will spend her eternity.
If we were to visit about what happens after death, would more people take their eternity seriously? That question of where will you be the moment after you take your last breath is NOT a crowd pleaser. Have you noticed?
Life moves forward.
Watched the 2006 television movie MOLLY: An American Girl On The Home Front with Lil Miss. Loved it. A great Family Movie with a good story line. I would recommend. I felt like I was transported back to 1943 for a PURPOSE. Gentle.
Will watch again. Have you seen it?
Adjusting this past week to getting back in the routine of rising early to get Lil Miss taken to school before 8 AM, my 'ole body has felt the pangs of getting super tired by mid afternoon just in time for picking Lil Miss up from School letting out.
We have a snack and a beverage while unwinding from the busy day. I always ask how her day has gone.
I needed to go to Manhattan after school and Lil Miss wasn't HAPPY about this. Extra tired, she cried because she didn't get to go HOME after school. Snacks would be a Fudge Brownie Molten Cake Sundae and water from Sonic. I only had one bite and drank plain 'ole refreshing water with ice. Good Girl.
Played a game with her on the way. THE EYE SPY COLOR GAME was a winner and soon her tears dried up. The color of choice was RED.
When she saw something RED, she was to say what it was that was RED and it couldn't be Granny's FACE. She did well. (Granny Nanny Chronicles)
After eating the Sundae, she sat back into her Booster Seat and fell asleep while I drove the distance into Manhattan to pick her Mom up from work. She slept the entire way. Stayed asleep. Hubby meet me at Hastings Book Store. Daughter with a sleeping Lil Miss went on their way. Still asleep.
Hubby and I dined at Harry's and then went to K-Marts afterwards so I could get a pillow encasement cover. About a month ago I bought a new one. The zipper had already broke. Instead of repairing the zipper, I decided to buy another cover and use this one with a broken zipper as a nice dusting cloth to clean the Master Bedroom floor next time I do serious dusting of the wood floors. It was actually nice to sit on Patio Furniture in K Marts and chat with my husband. We were basically alone and it felt like we were in the PRIVACY of our own serene backyard without the BUGS before we went to my Husband's office for the evening.
I forgot to get a package of Quilt Pins. Will have to deliberately make a trip to Jo-Ann's for these. Perhaps on Friday evening I will spend some time there shopping. I want to use these large pins when working on a Balloon Shade. I have been so slow on this project. The material is difficult to work with and I have had a bad case of the CHICKENS. I will have to ring this chicken's neck and have victory over this fear. Lord help.
I played on the computer in my Husband's Office as Hubby had an evening Conference Call at the building where he works. Drove HOME just as it was getting dark outside.
Early to bed and early to rise is comforting to some folk. I needed the early to bed.
This past week of small town America sewer work in our neighborhood is completed. 3 ATTEMPTS. We were given a notice when it would be the day that we were to not run water through our lines. Came HOME to find another notice that the date had changed. Made plans. Spent the day else where and when I returned HOME, there was another note on the door stating that it was going to be reschedule to another date. So yesterday, I made plans to be gone again. Laundry is piling up. As far as I know they completed the work and all is well. Flushing toilets are such a blessing! Flush.
This morning as I was driving Lil Miss to school, I thought to myself that this small town really is a nice quiet place to call HOME. I dropped some bills off at the Post Office, took a short drive noticing some men on a crane working on the front of the Court House doing repairs, and let the cool Autumn-like breeze blow into the car. The Church Bells chimed as I was on my way HOME.
May your day be wonderful FLUSHING away the cares of the world.
Glad you dropped by.
Happy Week-end!!!
