OFF I GO TO THE COTTAGE with a food haul. I am clearing out our pantry transferring the food pantry to the COTTAGE. Some of the food is in boxes and some in easier to handle totes. I'm leaving a few canned and boxed items at our main house since we do most of our food preparations and eating here. The fridge holds the brunt of our food we eat each day so I don't need to have a large stash of other things in the pantry. I plan on dining on lots of salads this week as I forge ahead in TRYING to lose some more weight.
Another round of serious effort has to be birthed as I have been more lenient with what I have been eating the last few months which has lead to a plateau that I have had for a year. Much effort has to go into eating a different way then I did growing up and as a young married with young family. I tried really hard to serve balanced meals and healthy snacks to my little family, but I was not into organic anything nor did I have concerns about eating highly processed foods. The shame of it all caught up with us contributing to our health issues.
I don't remember being too concerned about eating too much sugar until the late 1980s when Moms frowned about eating Halloween candy. Too much sugar will make the kids rambunctious.
There were no concerns about what harm sugar and highly processed foods would do to the human body. Eating white bread being a no-no happened and whole wheat was beginning to be promoted at how good it was, but GMOs and altering chemicals had a ways to go. High fructose corn syrup, food coloring and natural flavorings came into the light. SO often I thought I was doing the GOOD THING for health and would find out I wasn't. It has been a trip and a half.
I have concerns now and a few regrets about food quality. Straightening this out has been hard to change. It truly is like learning a foreign language and living a different LIFE. I want us to be healthy so I HAVE TO CHANGE what we eat and be true.
When I over eat carbs and sweets I get into a chemical imbalance problem also stored fat on my body and can't lose weight. Even with how physically busy I have been lately in real time, I do not lose weight. Without a thyroid and being insulin resistant, I stay fat.
BACK to carrying food to the COTTAGE. I'd better use a small wagon. I'll be carrying all the food inside by myself so I have to have small loads due to the weight of the containers and weak body. Slowly I go, but I am going. In motion. MOTION MATTERS. I'm doing it. After I arrive to the COTTAGE, I'll load goods inside the wagon, pull it up to the porch, unload then carry to the pantry. Place the items in the pantry. Arrange just so-so. Smile and say THANK YOU.
As simple as it sounds, it isn't. I have a bad back and get winded easier than most. SO I have to PACE MYSELF. It'll take me a few days to get the one pantry emptied and transferred to the new pantry. Another hurdle in the great adventure of downsizing and moving. Not complaining. It will be a comfort to have jumped this hurdle pertaining to our move.
When I return to the main house, I'll work in the carriage house making some kind of order out of the chaos in there. Another big project. Lord, help me be successful today and each day when dealing with the move, downsizing and having a change of heart about so much. Please.
Hubby is working at planting new grass in our side yard. After yesterday's rains, the ground is soft and easier to rake.
We are both working hard at making downsizing and this MOVE a success.
What can I say? A lot.

Bible verse/devotion: 2 Timothy 1
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.
15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
16 The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:
17 But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
18 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
