HOW DO YOU LIVE IN A SMALL SPACE AFTER BEING USE TO HAVING MORE ROOM TO CALL HOME? How do you go from running your own Household to downsizing to less space? With Grace.
My Daughter would know very well what this is like. She went through an unwanted divorce and would come to live with us at Home Haven while getting back on her feet. She left a two bedroom house with all the nice-it-ties that a separate house has to offer such as Living room, Dining, Kitchen, Utility room, Bathroom, Bedrooms and moved into a two room area with shared bathroom. Please know that she has plans of having her own place with space again.....it will just take some time, prayers and proper timing. She said she'd like to have a Husband included with the house! Though this room is full of second hand finds and isn't exactly the way my Daughter would decorate her own house...it is a more beautiful room when she is in it because her spirit brightens any room she's in! She has a roof over her head and love in her heart.
So I zoomed about her room and snapped some pics to share (with her permission) of things she uses in her tiny bedroom in Home Haven.
She's on a tight budget, but this doesn't stop her from decorating, functioning or have the desire of a house of her own!!!

This room is down home honest.......not fancy. Just very comfortable and laid back. A room you can live in and not fear messing up the furnishings. Won't get too excited over a scratch, water mark or dent.
The green metal Day Bed was one of her purchases after High School. She was pleased to buy it herself and it has stayed in good shape all these years. The bedding is on loan from the Queen Bee...grins.

My Grandma's Hutch has been placed in Daughter's room.
Used for everything from holding make-up, pictures, nic-nacs to bills, books and more.
After the Kitchen is rebuilt and the spare bedroom revamped,
Grandma's piece will be worked over and returned to the Dining room.
That's a ways off into the future.
This past week I was reading at the Library about old oak furniture and I'm thinking this piece is from the late 1880s. The book said that Parlour pieces came from Chicago but Dining and Bed Chamber pieces came from Cincinnati. So I suspect this piece of furniture came from Cincinnati.
Furniture Manufacturers were placed by rivers so they had power.
If there was a river...there was a way!

The small yellow children's chair was purchased for a few dollars from a Manhattan, Kansas Garage Sale well over ten years ago. I didn't have a clue that this chair would actually be used in my home by grandchildren....but God saw to it that the GRANDS would come along. I think it's a Sunday School chair from years gone by. Think of the little people that warmed this chair while hearing about Jesus. What do you suppose they did with this message?

These curtains have held up pretty good for as long as we have had them.

So glad to have it to warm the floor and our feet.

You know sometimes LIFE just doesn't go like we planned. There's all kinds of surprises along the way. Sometimes the surprises kill our dreams, squash our spirits, tear us a part. Jesus tells us that He came to heal our hurts. I have embraced this scripture for myself. How's about you? He is the anointed one that can heal your hurts. Amen.

Perhaps the place you call Home these days isn't the most stylish habitat by modern design...what's really important is that you are loved and cared for. That the place called HOME is really a home to you. There may be cracks in the walls and dirt on the window sills, but it's HOME to me.God's peace and deliverance be yours,
