Decorating On The Prairie: Dinky Bathroom

Hello from Home Haven!  

When you think of a small bathroom....what comes to mind?
A POWDER ROOM.
TOILET.
TUB.
SINK.
RUNNING AND FLUSHING WATER.  
TOWELS.  
A PLACE TO CLEAN UP.  
BATHROOM BREAK.  
ROOM ENOUGH TO TURN AROUND IN???  

From what I read at the local Museum about the present house I'm living in, one of the previous owners was a Writer that wrote for the local newspaper.    


She mentioned in one of her columns that she had a SMALL BATHROOM.  Her small Bathroom as she called it...was once a seasonal closet that was transformed into a REAL BATHROOM.  She was overly generous when calling it a small bathroom.  It is very, very, very, very TINY.


NO...it's dangerously dinky.  
DINKY.
Da. Ink. Kee. 

Our SMALL Bathroom, is better than an OUT HOUSE, THUNDER MUG or Chamber Pot!Though Chamber Pots can be attractive.....cleaning them is not so pleasant.

There's little room to turn around in my closet bathroom.  Concerned about someone slipping and hitting their head.  So this has to be changed.  

I'm thankful we have running water and flushing toilets, but it's something else for someone my size to actually using the room for what it is suppose to be used for.


Eventually the Bathroom will be transformed back into a Seasonal Closet with a new Bathroom created next door to it where a bedroom exists for now.  But for now here's a peek into our water closet.

We've purchased an old slipper tub and she quietly waits for the remodeling job to come forth.  One of the hardest things for me is  THE WAIT.  To wait patiently for a room to come to completion is not an easy thing for me.  I think on the matter a great deal.  Many a night after I say my prayers, I begin to think about seeing the finished room.  In my mind,  I walk through the house and see it finished. 


In reality, more than likely it will be a year or two before we have the larger Bathroom.  For now, I must wait, say my prayers and DREAM ON for the water closet to turn back into a seasonal closet.
