GOOD FRIDAY and IT'S GOOD

ON THIS GOOD FRIDAY I will rejoice because I can.  I will it.  JESUS, the lamb of God, died on the cross for all mankind's sin, stayed in the grave 3 days, then rose from the dead.  It's through him we can be redeemed and called a child of God after receiving him as our Savior.  We can have everlasting LIFE.

For God so loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten son, Jesus,  that WHO SO EVER BELIEVES IN HIM shall not perish, but have ever lasting LIFE!  John 3:16

CAN I GET A AMEN?
Resurrection SUNDAY is coming.
Jesus lives.

The weather is beautiful today, but we cannot open the windows to let fresh air in because of the PRAIRIE SMOKE from the prairie fires.  SHUCKS and a half.  57 degrees.  With temps being around 79 tomorrow.  It plays havoc on asthmatics and I am one.  So is my Sweetheart.  Together we stand, together we faint.

I would love to go for a walk.  The redbud tree in our backyard is in bloom and I noticed the Irises by the fence are growing upwards with thick green leaves.  The countdown starts this month as the Irises will bloom.  Come May Day they will be taking shape and blooming.  They were moved alongside of the fence last Summer.   Pics to follow.  Sometimes the Irises go into shock when relocated and don't bloom as well until they have had time to get over the shock.  Two years later...watch out!  They bloom beautifully.

This year I cannot hardly contain myself as there will be some new ones to bloom.  LOoKING FORWaRD to this.  My special SPRING treat.  Makes me smile really big.

Our son loaded up a moving truck yesterday to take his belongings back to a new apartment in Missouri   We could not be around our own son due to this SHELTERING IN.  We talked to each other via our phones.  His belongings have been in our garage and basement for a year as he was in between jobs and housing situation.  Before our son came here to load up his belongings my dear Hubby carried the boxes from our basement to the Carriage house and stacked stuff as if he was going to pack a moving van full.  This way when our son came with the moving truck, our son could load the truck by himself and away he went.  He is safely at his new location with his belongings that he packed in the truck and unloaded at new location by himself.  Oh, to be 42 again and full of muscles and gumption.

My dear Husband is resting now as he worked three days carrying boxes out of the basement and walking across the yard to the Carriage house, then stacking boxes and items in a specific order making loading a moving van easier.  Shuffling and arranging a dining room table and chairs, bed, television, microwave, etc.  Boxes, boxes, boxes.

I used my son's microwave for a year because ours broke and he offered the use of his.  He took it with him.  Good-bye.  Parting is such sweet sorrow.  I suppose we will have to shop on line for a microwave now as we used it to pop popcorn almost every night.  Pause.  Silence.  Humpf.

I said I wanted to go back in time.  Welp, I guess microwaves are really not 1880sish.  I will make a huge exception and use a microwave.  Yes, I give myself permission to use this wonderful device called a microwave, that cooks a potato in 4 minutes, melts butter, warms leftovers, thaws meat out, and pops popcorn.  I limit it there as I never nuked cakes or kitties in one.

Last week I could not hug my daughter for her 40th Birthday...this week I could not hug my son as he arrived and departed nor take my Mom out for her 88th Birthday.  Makes me cry.  I will survive.

I have listened to so many hours of the Coronavirus Task Force Briefings that I am going to have to take a BREAK from it.  The briefings seemed to became a TRUMP RALLY for campaigning.  I can only RALLY for so long then I have to do something else like live.

I check briefer BRIEFS online.  I will not be watching hours and hours of TRUMP TV.  I cannot.  Growing weary of too much information.  I have a book by TRUMP that I will be thumbing through later in life.  I wanted to read for myself that Mr. Trump mentions his Kabbalist Teacher, Eitan Yardeni.  He does on page 188 of his book, TRUMP: The Way To The Top: The Best Business Advice I Ever Received.

We do live in interesting times.

Moving right along.
'EASY DOES IT MEATLOAF' was a success.
I will sing the praises of this recipe.  Very very good!

Well, Hello Beautiful!

Have a blessed week-end and stay safe.
God loves you,

CROSS

~GOOD FRIDAY~

Only ONE is good enough to save us.
His name is Jesus.
That He did so is cause indeed for celebration.

What does GOOD FRIDAY mean to you?
Thankful that the day is Friday and that makes it a good day because the week-end is coming?

Or something else?

To me GOOD Friday leads up to celebrating Easter on Sunday.
Thoughts are on the risen LORD and what all that means is good.
Easter eggs and Easter Baskets are part of the celebration of LIFE and represent new beginnings in Christ.

What I found out as I researched the WHYs of why the Friday before Easter is called GOOD goes as follows:

Good Friday is a day of sorrow mingled with joy.  It's a time to grieve over the sin of man and to meditate and rejoice upon God's love in giving His only Son, Jesus, for the redemption of sin.

Good Friday is the Friday before Easter in the Christian Calendar.  It commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary.  The Friday preceding Easter Sunday and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover also known as BLACK Friday, HOLY Friday, GREAT Friday or EASTER Friday.

The name of "Good Friday" may have come from the Gallican Church in Gaul (modern France and Germany) from the name GUTE FREITAG.  It's Germanic in origin and literally means "good" or "holy" Friday.  The second possibility is the variation on the word "God's Friday," where the word 'good' was used to replace the word 'God' which was viewed as too holy to be spoken aloud.

***************************

God gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus as the way to enter into a rightful relationship with God.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus)  that whosoever believeth in him,
shall not perish, but have everlasting LIFE.

~EVERLASTING~
This is something that does NOT wear out or wear down,
but lifts us up to a higher place and allows us to live a more excellent way.

What happens to a person's soul after they are born anew may not be seen by human eye,
but it's a newness that regenerates one's spirit.
The fruit that comes from this will eventually show.
Then you see!

A very good Friday to you,
~d~

3 P.M.

On a day so many years ago...the middle of the afternoon would come. Close to two thousand years ago Jesus hung on the cross and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, INTO THY HANDS I COMMEND MY SPIRIT:

And having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

This Biblical account and historical moment in time is known as GOOD FRIDAY and a day to remember what Christ did on the cross. He died a real death. He died, but two days later would victoriously be resurrected from the dead. He is the Messiah! Easter Sunday is coming.

Praise be to God GREAT THINGS HE hath done.

This morning I woke to a dark sky with rumbling thunder and flashes of lightning. It's raining outside and the day is manifesting the first spring thunderstorm of 2010 in the Kansas Prairies. The Flinthills will quickly begin to green up with this moisture.

Our flower bed is
coming to life
with blooming daffodils, tulips, crocus and grape hyacinths. Small Lilac Bushes that we planted three years ago have buds. As I drove the car yesterday, I noticed splashes of green appearing in the branches of the trees. I love this time of year. Love it. It's like a fresh start.

A long awaited newness.

Jesus gives new life to people. He is in the business of giving abundant and everlasting LIFE.

Perhaps you have been waiting for a newness in Life. It's been a long time in the coming.

What a beautiful time of year to become a Christian that wants a closer walk with God and to learn HIS ways.

What a beautiful time of year to lay down all the doubt, hurt and aloneness that comes from not knowing one's creator.

God Bless you with the understanding that you don't have to be alone in your life. You don't have to go through life alone carrying so many burdens that weigh you down.

May you have a blessed day and may this week-end be a beautiful Easter with a newness in your Christian walk. May this be a time to lay all your burdens down and be refreshed by God...the one that is the lover of your Soul. The one who truly cares for you and has a good plan for your LIFE. The one we call Holy and all knowing. The one that is the Author of your faith. The one that will see you through.
~Deanna~

May 3 o'clock in the afternoon be a reminder that Jesus didn't stay on the cross. He didn't stay dead. He fulfilled prophesy and He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through him.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.”

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
