We watched a Grandson play some Baseball this past week. Before the season is over, I wanted to see him play this sport.
He pitches and stands tall on the mound.
It was extremely windy so we ate some dirt. Baseball is a slower sport to watch which is kind of nice in today's world being so hectic.
Not always able to see all the GRANDS take part in their sports, but do try.
We even had POPCORN. No Cracker Jacks.
TODAY, I WENT SHOPPING. That's not much of a surprise, is it? A beautiful day for the trip with the window rolled down. Some medicine that was called in needed picked up from the Pharmacy. On the road again. Before entering the Hardware store to purchase some special cleaners we walked through their Greenhouse and looked over the plants and flowers. They had a nice selection.
Tis SPRING CLEANING TIME as I purchased quite a few items for cleaning projects. Needed some special cleaner for marble for the bathroom countertop, stainless steel wipes for Kitchen appliances, Lilac scented hand soap by Mrs. Meyer, Silver Polish, Cook Top wipes. Tis SPRING and away I go. The deep cleaning will begin next week. Seems like this is a major part of being a HOMEMAKER.
We checked out and rolled on over to Manhattan for LUNCH at McAlisters. Baked potatoes for us with bottled water. Twas filling. Makes for a happier shopper. The Dollar Store was near by and I needed to get some Graduation Cards, a Retirement Card, some ETERNAL WATER and some Clorax Bleach. While shopping, my body made an announcement to let me know that I was getting ill. Off to the Ladies Bathroom I went, but this particular bathroom had absolutely NO TOILET PAPER. One of the dirtiest bathrooms I've seen, but beggars cannot be choosers and I was desperate.
I did my best to get cleaned up and rushed to find my Husband to tell him I needed to go to HOBBY LOBBY to use their Bathroom to finish what was started. I was in a bad way. He checked our purchases out as I left the store and practically ran a half a block to HOB LOB's restroom. They had toilet paper and a clean bathroom. I should probably carry tp in my purse for times like this. After today's accident, I purchased some baby wipes that come in a plastic wrap container and placed it in my purse. My body quieted down and I thought I could do a little more shopping before returning HOME for the day. Not sure if it was something I ate, drank or was exposed to, but getting sick snuck up on me and then Hubby had the same reaction. Came on fast and left about as fast as it came.
Since Irises are starting to bloom, I wanted to visit KSU Gardens. A nice place to visit. We went ahead and drove to the Kansas State University GARDENS to look first hand at the blooming Irises. No camera with me so I'll have to return in a few days to take pics. The GARDENS are morphing into something else besides strictly flowers. I believe they are putting in a reflective pool. Much construction in progress.
Off to MENARDS for special paper that my Hubby needs for covering floor tile before he begins working in the bathroom on the surround tile behind where the tub goes. Since I was in MENARDS, I grazed the nursery, looked at books, glanced at this and that.
Since the storage unit is between Manhattan and where we live, we stopped to check on the contents. I think we will clear some things out of this unit, but have to make plans when to do this and where to go with the things. The she shed in our back yard might morph into a place to set up a Queen size bed. Just a thought. Just a thought. Just a thought.
Journeyed HOME, but realized I had missed out on getting Clorax Bleach since making a quite exit out of the store earlier. I remembered that I missed getting it. Oops. That was one thing on my shopping list that was needed for laundering bedding that needs refreshened. Went to Dollar General for that then HOME.
Hubby is napping and I'm thinking about going to the Track to walk around it 4 times to make a mile. Hummmmm. Shall I try? Yes, think I will. I want so badly to walk this weight off so I am healthier. I continue to eat more VEGGIES. I do have a sweet now and then. I don't believe I can give up sugar a 1000%. Know what I mean? Very well.
STAYING BUSY.
We had Prom last week-end, Baseball and Track. Landscaping plants were purchased and planted. Love it. The Irises are blooming and it makes my heart sing. I'm still working on the laundry pile and packing dishes that will go into storage for now. Medical appointments are coming up in a few days. I'm getting weary going to so many medical appointments. Doing my best to stay perky and grateful. Just because you are retired does not mean you do nothing. My calendar is full and I have plenty to do. It seems like it's never ending.
God bless,
