CHRISTMAS CHEER is on the back burner as I'm thinking about our menu for CHRISTMAS company later in the month. I have a little over two weeks to prepare for this HOLIDAY. Thinking about desserts on this cold day in December. Last year I ate some of these SWEETS and thought it was delicious. Will try to duplicate this. Yummers an a half.

~Christmas Crack~
- 54 Ritz Crackers
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line an 11x17 pan with foil and grease the foil well. Fill with crackers.
In a medium saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Stir to mix.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat allowing it to come to a rolling boil for 3 minutes. Once the mixture boils, DO NOT STIR. If using a candy thermometer the toffee should reach 270-290 degrees.
Pour sugar mixture over the crackers. Bake 4 minutes. Turn the oven off.
Remove from the oven then sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and warm in oven for 1 minute.
- Spread chocolate evenly and sprinkle pecans on top.
Allow the pan to slightly cool on the counter then place pan into the freezer to completely cool.
- Snack is ready. Break into pieces.
DAUGHTER'S PIE CRUST RECIPE
Pie Crust Recipe.
With her permission I share her recipe with you. BLESS your family, friends and your taste buds with this wonderful crust.
Pie Crust Recipe
1 cup flour
3 heaping tablespoons of shortening
A dash of salt
A tiny bit of ice cold water
Mix ingredients together well.
Roll out on wax paper.
Assemble pie.
Spread a little milk on top of crust before baking.
Simply delicious,
