Granny Nanny and Baskets


~GOOD 'OLE BASKET~

Through out the years this good 'ole BASKET
has been used for a variety of things.
The lastest use is for storing children's hair accessories
like bows, headbands, ribbons, hair brushes, combs,
hair bands and hair detangler.

A quick reach when in a hurry makes having
all these items easy to get to when fixing her hair.
The basket rest in the family room ready to assist
an old Granny needing simplicity in her schedule with Lil Miss.

Basket Mystery Solved

The mystery is solved about what is in the basket...CLOTHES PINS.

I had fun reading your comments. Your guesses gave me some new ideas for the use of baskets. This one will remain being used for clothes pins.

Honest to pete, there were only 2 clothes pins that have survived. Time to buy some more. When I got to thinking that I have had this basket over 20 years, I was dazed. The craftsperson that created this basket did a superior job. It looks as good today as it did when I bought it.

What a bargain I got that day when I bought this basket.

What's In The Basket?




What's in the basket?
Got any ideas?
Just for fun, guess what's inside and what this basket is used for.
I'll let you know on Monday.
This basket was purchased at a yard sale in Liberal, Kansas in about 1986. The lady that sold this to me was a nurse and she told me that this basket was made by a missionary. I regret that I don't recall from which country.

DAUGHTER'S PIE CRUST RECIPE

Pie Crust Recipe.
With her permission I share her recipe with you.
BLESS your family, friends and your taste buds with this wonderful crust.

Pie Crust Recipe

1 cup flour
3 heaping tablespoons of shortening
A dash of salt
A tiny bit of ice cold water

Mix ingredients together well.
Roll out on wax paper.
Assemble pie.
Spread a little milk on top of crust before baking.

Simply delicious,

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.
