I luv kittens....i really really do.
Their energy and playful manner puts a smile on my face.
But
the neighbors have kittens e v e r y summer....several litters. More than I care to count. They run wild and aren't domesticated. Concerned about their safety and health....carrying disease. We live on the edge of town and the country isn't far off. Also have adult cats that stay all year round.
My daughter's cats have their shots, are city tagged and have been sterilized. Kept in an oversized cage in the backyard. Taken out for yard time and then placed back in their safe place till next time.
On a hot day...did i mention HOT STEAMY DAY... as I'm walking up to the front porch steps there's HOT cat poo* in the air. Know what I mean?
Researching on the internet on how to keep cats out of the flower bed for their personal toilet led me to some ideas that I just might use.
The best one I found was to plant catnip plants in another area away from flower bed to encourage the kitties to stay out of the flower bed because they are preoccupied entertaining themselves with the catnip!
Near by have a small sandbox for their toilet.
Cats don't like lavender and deers dislike it as well.
Cat poo* can harbor PATHEGENS harmful to Humans. Their waste can contain parasites passed on by its prey.
