~PRAIRIE POPCORN~
Aren't there certain foods that come with each Season or Holiday?
I believe there is.
Temps start chilling with Halloween coming
so each year Carmel Apples and Popcorn Balls reappear.
I cannot take credit for this,
but wanted to share my Daughter's PRAIRIE POPCORN.
Tried something new.
Made with MOLASSES
just like Little House On The Prairie Style.
Lil Miss helped her Momma create these tasty
Molasses Popcorn Balls.
They do have a different flavor than what I'm use to.
Molasses has many good health qualities to it.

Nice TREAT!
For 2 to 2 1/2 dozen popcorn balls you will need:
Popped corn, 6 quarts
Molasses, 2 cups
Butter, 3 to 4 Tablespoons
Pan, 6-quart
Baking sheets, 2
Kettle, 3 quart
Spread the unsalted unbuttered corn evenly in the 6-quart pan.
Butter the baking sheets lightly.
In the kettle (DON'T SKIMP ON SIZE---molasses will expand)
bring molasses to a boil and cook it over a medium heat, stirring frequently with a spoon.
Stop cooking molasses when test drops of syrup harden quickly in cold water (250 degrees to 266 degrees F).
Spread the bubbling candy over the corn and toss quickly with the stirring spoon to distribute it.
With buttered hands---four at least, six perferably---shape handfuls into balls the size of medium oranges.
Place on baking sheets until cool.
Prairie Popcorn can be stored in airtight tins or bags. This prevents popcorn balls from drawing moisture and making corn soggy.
Thanx for visiting.
Would enjoy reading your comments!
The flavor of Prairie Cooking is something you can have right there in your HOME no matter where it is.
God bless,
d
