DAY AFTER EASTER

EASTER was a lovely day with family.  WALKING IN THE NEWNESS OF LIFE WITH THE RESURRECTED LORD.  The Lord's day.  

Deviled Eggs, a Relish Tray and Celery Sticks with cheese were created especially for the special gathering.

MONDAY came quietly with rain.  I WOKE UP fairly early and got around.  Needed to go to Manhattan's QUEST DIAGNOSTIC for lab work.  Was needing to TSH checked and A1C.  I was the only one in the waiting room when I arrived.  The technician was extremely good.

Off I went to call HUBBY and see if he wanted to do LUNCH.  We ate at a little Mexican Restaurant chatting and eating tamales covered with red sauce.  Beans and rice are pretty much a staple to the side after chips and salsa come to the table.  Aqua/water quenched my thirst.  A little chilly in the restaurant.

Afterwards, I drove to the Kansas State University GARDENS to see if the Irises were starting to bud out.  Will check back in a week.  Lilac bushes are in full bloom and wondered if the Lilac bush we have at RETIREMENT COTTAGE was in bloom.  Before going to the cottage I would treat myself to a hot tall WHITE CHOCOLATE MOCHA.  

Laundromat awaits me where I planned to wash old baby blankets and keepsake children's clothing with WOOLITE.  The Mat was empty so I had access to the television channels in which I watched the HOME GARDEN CHANNEL where remodeling was going on.  When the machines were done I packed up the wet items knowing that I was going to use the cottage's dryer.  The drive was so pleasant in beautiful weather and scenery that it was a very pleasant drive to the cottage.

I began drying the blankets and took a nap after thumbing through a new BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS magazine.  I spent the afternoon doing laundry.  Before going home, I clipped some Lilac blooms to place in a crystal vase.

The costumes were impressive and the story line interesting.  The 1994 movie STARGATE kept my interest.  Like a new movie to me as I couldn't remember the story.  duh....  

In modern-day Egypt, professor Daniel Jackson (James Spader) teams up with retired Army Col. Jack O'Neil (Kurt Russell) to unlock the code of an interstellar gateway to an ancient Egypt-like world. They arrive on a planet ruled by the despotic Ra (Jaye Davidson), who holds the key to the Earth travelers' safe return. Now, in order to escape from their intergalactic purgatory, Jackson and O'Neil must convince the planet's people that Ra must be overthrown.
