Hug The One You're With

Hi there!
We're one day closer to Spring and I'm ready.
Even with this cold weather, at times I can hear birds chirping in the top of the trees.  This reminds me of Spring.  Apparently they didn't go south to winter.  Very pleasant sound in the dead of winter.

I just got done cleaning the powder room toilet and sink.  Boy did they need it!

A few years ago, I had to make the decision to not keep getting EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED with the toilet.  Just clean it and be done with it. Sounds kind of petty to dread so badly cleaning such an object to the point that it put a frown on my face and I procrastinated cleaning it.  Much happier now that I quickly clean the porcelain princess with a smile on my face and utter not a word.

Way back when, there was a popular song that played on the radio about LOVE THE ONE YOU'RE WITH by Stephen Stills.  If you like, Google the lyrics.  3o DITS later, I remember I liked the beat. Not so impressed with the subject matter now.  Not really about love, but self-gratification of the lust kind.  It would be better to be emotionally involved with a toilet than to follow this guys advice. Just cause a song has a catchy tune doesn't mean you should do what the song is saying to do.

With Love The One You're With...it made me think about what I have seen so much of on the internet.  Let me back track a little here.  When I was a Senior in High School back in 1972-73, there was talk about the computer over at the Junior College (another name for Community College) in town.  Better go see it.  So I did.

ONE computer filled a large room.  I didn't think it was that important.  Just a bunch of flashing lights and wizz bang noise. What could it possibly do, but spit out punch cards that meant nothing to me.  What a waste of paper.

As time has past, was I ever enlightened.  The computers continued to get smaller in size until we now have notebook size computers that will morph into a different creature as we speak.

About two years ago on a small sized computer, I got acquainted with Myspace.  As I investigated a friend's friend's friend and so on, it took me by surprise how many pictures there were of young women that had smiles on their faces as they held alcoholic beverages and had no fronts to their clothing.  Call me ignorant, but I had trouble believing that there were so many of them all doing the same thing...smiling while holding a drink, exposing flesh and HUGGING THE ONE THEY'RE WITH.  Quite a few pictures of miss so and so sticking her tongue out.  Picture after picture after picture, etc.  Sloppy drunk and hanging onto whoever. So much of it.  Diseased.

Now, I have begun to Blog.

So I praise the Christian Bloggers with scripture on their sites, clean conversations, decent pictures of family, friends, animals, flowers, sunsets, craft items, recipes, all together lovely.

I praise the Christian Women, Christian Wives, Christian Mommas and Christian Singles that desire to live a life pleasing to God and are.

Back to Love the One You're With and Hugging Whoever.  You'd be better off being emotionally attached to your toilet.  They have alot in common.  Dit dit dit dit dit dit dit dit...

May your Home be a Haven full of God's Love that ministers to all that enter in.

Don't forget to pray.

Yes, I love the Christian blogs, too. SO encouraging.

Glad you got your white pony cleaned.

My latest post on my plum trees was due to being tagged for a meme. So, I am tagging you. Pick the sixth picture on your computer picture album. Tell a story about it. Pick six people to do the same.

BTW, when I was in high school, I knew 2 sisters named Deanna and Debbie, only Deanna was the elder.

Love! Thanks for the daily reminder not to forget to pray!

Well, Deanna, I see you have several followers already! Soon, you will have more.

I was going to say, about the menopause, I read a good book about it called "Menopause -- The Silent Passage", by Gail Sheehey, who wrote "Passages" back in the '70's, and later, "New Passages." Both are good, easy to read, sociological studies.

The Silent Passage gives good advice and shows what to expect from "the change." The only thing that is outdated is the advice about taking Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Nowadays, doctors think it can cause heart attacks in some women. Although some women still swear by it and are able to get their doctors to prescribe it if the doctors don't think it is dangerous for them personally.

Also, an older 1964 book: Feminine Forever, written by a doctor. I forget his name. It is mentioned in Silent Passages. He too, is gung-ho for HRT, but it sounds like his mother (because of whose unpleasant experience during menopause he wrote the book and recommended HRT) could have used some medicinal help.

Dr. James Dobson also used to recommend HRT, because it practically saved his mother from commiting suicide, because she was so depressed in menopause (and also from losing her husband at about the same time, I think). Don't know if Dr. Dobson still recommends HRT, but he may, as some doctors still think it helps some women.

Interesting...

Oh, I just HAD to make another comment, because I have to type in: "refart" for word verification to get this thing to take my comment. Ha-ha! ROFLOL! Couldn't pass that one up.

Deanna said...

Dear Civilla,
Ha Ha Ha about refart.

I am so new at this thing that I don't have a computer picture album. When I get up and running and have pics to share, I will write a story about pic#6 etc. I promise.

Civilla, I appreciate the info about books on menopause that you have mentioned that are available. Thank you for sharing with me. I will keep these in mind.

I'm so hoping that I will cross over very soon. Had some blood work done and it looks like I'm getting close. Hallelujah.

Blessings 2 u,
Deanna

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
